Ficus Bistro @ TTDI

September 14, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

Ficus is one of the restaurants that are a must-try. Located in TTDI, Ficus restaurant brings you a cozy ambiance with a wonderful touch in its decoration. The restaurant comes with ample sitting space where customers can choose to sit on the sofa or enjoy the proper dining experience.

And at Level 1, they had made it as an event hall. One can book the event hall for parties, gatherings, or even engagements which is perfectly good for those who wanted to look for an intimate gatherings.

As for the menu, it is pretty extensive and they have a wide variety of delights to go for which include Japanese, Western, and even Malaysian delights.

Guacamole (RM 26)

We started off with the guacamole. The Fresh avocado is perfectly mixed with the chopped onions, cilantro, tomatoes and a side of cili padi for that extra kick. It is served with a bowl of nachos, The dish is impressively delicious and Grace finishes the whole bowl and give it a double thumbs up!

Fish Ramen (RM 35)

The fish ramen is a must to try. They are indeed perfectly made where the ramen is made in-house and served in a light fish broth topped with the pan barramundi fillet, vegetable, and shoyu egg. The ramen is so good and the texture is al-dente. It is simply delicious and what I like is the barramundi slice where the fish comes generous in portions and fresh.

Spicy Hebi Hebi (RM 35)

The hebi hebi pasta is made in-house with their special hebi -hebi paste and what I love is it is served with a generous portion of tiger prawns, vegetables, chopped parsley, and parmesan cheese. The pasta brings you the kick of spiciness and there is umph in it. Love the flavors!

Braised Short Ribs (RM 60)

The Braised Short Ribs are one of the MUST-HAVE here. One can enjoy the beautiful braised Australian Short ribs which is being braised for hours. It is side with the fries, vegetables, and asam pedas sauce. When it is served, we are a bit skeptical about it as we had never tried short ribs with the asam pedas sauce. But, once a bite, OMG.. it is so good that hubby gives a double thumbs up on this.

Roasted ½ Spring Chicken (RM 33)

Another must-try here is their spice-roasted spring chicken served with their homemade percik sauce. It is sided together with chickpeas, cucumber, tomato, red chili and fries. The chicken meat comes simply tender and juicy which is simply good and delicious.

After an amazing delight, we ended our meal with their signature desserts which are the pengat pisang, pavlova, and the pain perdu.

Pengat Pisang (RM25)

I am falling in love with their pengat pisang. The Pengat Pisang Cheesecake is beautifully served with the Sago Gula Melaka, almonds crumbles and caramelized banana. It was not overly sweet but enough to pamper our tastebuds.

Pain Perdu (RM 25)

One can enjoy the pain perdu which comes with the homemade brioche bun and is served together with their Chantilly cream, homemade vanilla ice cream, and Dulce de leche accompanied with the fresh berries.

Ficus Chocolate Pavlova (RM 25)

This is sinfully good and it is definitely my favorite of all. Usually, Pavlova is always too sweet but in Ficus Bistro they made a twist to the usual pavlova you had. The swirled Chocolate Pavlova is served with Chantilly cream, fresh berries and passion fruit, pomegranate, and grated dark chocolate. What makes it special is the passion fruit which is inside the pavlova toned down its sweet flavors of it and making it very refreshing and addictive.

Overall, Ficus is indeed a great place to dine and the food here are so good. We love the ambiance, service, and food especially the Braised Beef Ribs, Spicy Hebi Hebi, and the Pavlova.
