DUKE FINE DURIAN HITS THE SWEET SPOT WITH ARTISANAL DESSERTS THAT SHOWCASE THE VERSATILITY OF DURIANS

June 2, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

Located at Fahrenheit88 in the heart of Bukit Bintang, Duke Fine Durian brings a touch of luxury to Malaysia’s iconic sweet and pungent fruit. Inspired by all things durian, the dessert café—the first of its kind in the country, caters to enthusiasts and curious foodies looking to savour the fruit in new ways. True to its name, the café’s interior decor also features a real durian tree as its centerpiece!

“We’re on a mission to redefine durian indulgence in Malaysia and everywhere else. Using only the most exclusive range of local durians in the market, we’ve crafted menu offerings—fresh durians, cakes and pastries to name a few—that highlight the unique complexities of the fruit’s flavour profile.

We want to change what people think they know about the King of Fruits, introducing a gourmet experience unlike any other,” said Mr. Ernest Lee Chi Yeung, Marketing Manager. Ernest Lee added, “We only work with the best. As the purveyor of the country’s finest durians, we are picky about the durians we use. They are carefully hand-selected by experts to ensure their freshness and quality. Each fruit that carries our brand must also be grown artisanally.”

With more than 25 items on the menu, the star of the show is undoubtly the Durian Platter. Diners can choose from five types of durians such as D197 and Green Dragon, each of which will be paired with surprising garnishes—gold flakes, matcha, cheese and more—that elevate the texture and taste of the fruit.

Other notable mentions are the Durian Oyaki (Japanese English muffin with durian), Durian Charcoal (durian custard tart with a charcoal croissant base), and Durian Croissant, all of which are one-of-akind in-house creations that you will not find anywhere else!

If you’re looking for a drink to go with your sweet treats, Duke Fine Durian also offers Matcha Yuzu, juices, an assortment of Chinese teas, and coffee.
