MALAYSIA’S LARGEST EXCLUSIVE CONNOISSEUR’S STORE, THE CHAMBER LAUNCHES IN THE STARHILL

May 17, 2022 By StrawberrY Gal - Food News Leave a Comment

The Chamber has officially launched its first flagship connoisseur’s store with over 1,000 labels – the widest collection in the country for the most discerning palates at The Starhill today.

Conceptualised to be a library of the finest tastes from breweries, distilleries, vineyards and cigarmakers around the world, The Chamber’s specially curated and exclusive selection is housed in a 4,600 sq ft space.

At the launch, The Chamber’s CEO, Justin Lim said apart from their large collections, The Chamber is differentiated from other outlets in that it is staffed by a trained team of bartenders, sommeliers and mixologists, who will focus on delivering bespoke experiences for all its customers.

Lim explained that he had established The Chamber to make connoisseurship accessible to all, with selections from The Chamber made available both online and in its stores.

“In my years of travelling around the world, I have had the opportunity to discover the best tastes worldwide. This led to the idea that the finest tastes should not be available to just a select few but accessible to those who seek it.”

To start them on their personalised journey to connoisseurship, every patron of The Chamber, either on its online platform or its stores, will be automatically entitled to become a privileged member of The Chamber.

He added, “The Chamber’s purpose statement, ‘Good Spirits, Good Company,’ is a representation of our mission to provide the highest quality products and services with a focus on delivering personalised experiences for all those who choose to sojourn with us. We aim to open 13 stores nationwide within the next couple of years.”

Discover Exclusive Collections and Rare Editions

The Chamber’s flagship store at The Starhill will feature over 1,000 labels for every patron’s browsing pleasure, including Old World and New World fine wines, notably rare collections from the prestigious Premier Grand Cru ranked wine estates of Château Margaux and Château Cheval Blanc in Bordeaux.

Cognac lovers will find Remy Martin’s coveted Louis XIII, which comprises a blend of 1,200 eaux-de-vie between 40-100 years old, aged in oak barrels that are several hundred years old, and Hennessy’s Hennessy Richard and Hennessy Paradis.

Whiskey enthusiasts will be able to discover the works of art from Scottish distilleries, The Macallan, Dalmore and The Balvenie at The Chamber, while sake lovers will be able to find collections from the mysterious cult sake brand Juyondai at The Chamber as well as the  Dassai Collection. Also available are the highly sought after Dom Perignon vintage champagnes and Krug Champagne.

Malaysia’s First Hennessy Hands Experience

The Chamber’s flagship store in The Starhill will also house the first Hennessy Hands workshop, a new concept first launched last year by the cognac-maker to bring its rich savoir-faire to life, paying tribute to the legacy and craftmanship that Hennessy has been cultivating for generations.

At the workshop, patrons will be able to customise their bottles and engrave their initials in silver, gold or bronze in a style of their choice, and choose a feature accessory (clip or strip) in a colour that best suits them – beige, brown, red, or grey. The personalised accessories will then be fitted over the bottles, reminiscent of the art of barrel-making and by the wooden hoops encircling the cognac makers’ barrels.

Exclusive Membership Privileges

Memberships will be made available online or in The Chamber stores, with four membership tiers. All inductees on the connoisseurship journey will be awarded a Blue membership with Silver, Gold and Emerald tiers unlocked according to total yearly bills.

Exclusive membership events include weekly connoisseurship masterclasses comprising wine tasting and pairing events.

Blue Members will receive 1000 points as a welcome gift (equivalent to RM10) and a RM50 voucher on their birthday month.

Silver members have the additional privileges of receiving 5% off during their birthday month, a complimentary bottle worth up to RM500, complimentary access to the Private Chambers for up to eight times, a one time complimentary rental of the Mobile Chamber, and a two-day, one night staycation at a five-star hotel.

Gold members enjoy upgraded benefits including a complimentary bottle worth up to RM1,000, complimentary access to the Private Chamber 24 times a year, complimentary rental of the Mobile Chamber for up to two times, a 1-year complimentary whiskey or cigar subscription, and a fine dining experience for two worth up to RM1,000.

Top of the tier are the Emerald members, who will enjoy unlimited access to the Private Chambers, five times complimentary rental of the Mobile Chamber, a complimentary bottle worth up to RM5,000, a full-board three-day, two nights staycation at a five-star hotel, as well as a fine dining experience for two worth up to RM3,000.

The Private Chambers

The Chamber’s flagship store in The Starhill features three private rooms designed by the world’s most elite brands – Hennessy, Mortlach, and Louis XIII, available only for its members. The Hennessy, Mortlach and Louis XIII rooms offer an exclusive space for parties of six and are designed to reflect each brand’s dedication to tradition and craftsmanship.

The Hennessy Paradis Room offers a space that comfortably seats six. Adorned in rich earthy tones, this reflects the brand’s dedication to tradition and craftsmanship backed by its timeless heritage and savoir faire.

A first in Malaysia, the Mortlach Room is designed to bring to life whiskey’s best kept secret. Decked in the brand’s signature hues of dark blue and gold, it echoes the core values of audaciousness, boldness and complexity, boasting the unique 2.81 distillation process that Mortlach offers.

At the Louis XIII room, sojourners can immerse themselves in the red room, which pays tribute to the brand’s legacy of excellence.

The First Mobile Connoisseur’s Bar- The Mobile Chamber

As part of making connoisseurship accessible to all, The Chamber also has Malaysia’s first mobile bar, which will be able to cater to private events for exclusive members at their homes or space of choice.

The Mobile Chamber can be hired by hosts for their selection of drinks, premium bar set up and expert bartenders.
