G Hotel Kelawai Makes A Contribution to Children’s Protection Society

April 23, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

G Hotel has been known to organize several charity programs from time to time to contribute back to the society. A few of our commendable charities were donation of bubur lambuk to several orphanages during puasa months, longest christstollen fundraising charity drive, lunch with several old folks’ homes, Christmas tree charity program and many more.

From raising funds, activities, campaigns and others, G Hotel makes these small contributions to the society to show that we care. The team of G Hotel Kelawai recently took an initiative to spread some joy to the underprivileged children at Children’s Protection Society. Lead by Mr Jordon Lim, our Director of Food and Beverage and Mr Calvin Hor, our Chief Engineer, the hotel donated unused furniture like sofa and stools to the home. The aim is to provide needed products for the home to enable the children to have a comfort living. The assets were collected by Ms. Magdeline, the caretaker of the children’s home. ““This generous donation of furniture from G Hotel Kelawai will be useful for us and it will be placed in the living area as well as the dining area where the children could benefit from new sofa and stools as well.” says Ms. Magdeline. “The children are excited to have the set of sofas and grateful with the furniture donated from the hotel”, she added.

The Children’s Protection Society (CPS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization serving the needs of neglected and/or abandoned children in Penang. Their goal is to provide the children at risk with a safe and supportive environment conducive to their healthy development. Children’s Protection Society (CPS) has around 30 to 40 children between the ages of 5 and 18 living in their care and around 20 to 30 children under their outreach program on the mainland – Butterworth, Penang.

“”We are delighted and proud that we are able to contribute something back to the society yet again. The last contribution was done a few years back when the team of G Hotel visited the home and had some hands-on activities, gifts and with the children. We also hope these goods can make a small difference in the lives of the children. Spreading some joy to the children is the main objective of these contribution.” says Mr. Michael Hanratty, General Manager of G Hotel.

“This will definitely implement commendable moral values among the hotel staffs thus making a difference in the community”, he added. Aside from organizing these charity events in the hotel, G Hotel aims to organize charitable events at various non-profitable organizations to engage hotel staffs to participate.
