SHERATON PETALING JAYA ELEVATES ONLINE STORE OFFERINGS WITH NEW DECADENT AND FLAVOURFUL DESSERT RANGE

February 10, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel has unveiled a new specialty dessert range ‘Sweet Delights’, featuring sweet treats and savouries to elevate the hotel’s online store offerings. Those with a sweet tooth can expect to be mesmerized by these new delectables and what’s more, enjoy the convenience of having them delivered to your doorstep.

The ‘Sweet Delights’ will unleash unconventional desserts such as the ‘Smash Cake’ series; featuring the ‘Unicorn Smash Cake’, ‘Rose Heart Smash Cake’ and ‘Tuxedo Smash Cake’. The shell of the ‘Unicorn Smash Cake’ is made of chocolate in the shape of a sphere, with a unicorn horn attached on the top making it the ultimate gift for a kid’s party. The ‘Rose Heart Smash Cake’ is shaped like a heart, decorated with sugar roses on the top and The ‘Tuxedo Smash Cake’, like its name, has sugar fondant details of a real tuxedo with a bow, collar, shirt and buttons. Uncover the secret indulgence within by smashing these cakes with a wooden hammer and inside you will find a cake surprise which consist of candy, marshmallow and homemade rocky road.
Another paradise for dessert junkies would be the ‘8 in 1’, consisting of 8 different flavoured cakes combine into 1 whole cake. Flavours include Mango Lactee, Pure, Green Tea Yuzu, Foret Noire, Raspberry Chocolate Fudge, Chocolate Banana Passion, Jivara Mongo and Ivorie Chitose; these 8 different flavours combines into 1 whole cake. Those looking to delight their loved ones this Valentine’s Day can opt for the ‘Rose Lychee’, a rose shaped mousse cake with lychee filling.
Under savouries, indulge in the Mushroom Quiche, a savoury egg custard baked in a flaky pie crust with mushroom filling. The ‘Pesto Brioche Swirls’, a flavourful brioche bread, rich in eggs, milk and butter is one not to miss. What makes this bread so special is its high fat and protein contents, with garlic cilantro pesto in between layers of flaky pastry. For rye bread enthusiasts, the ‘Caraway Rye Bread’ contains caraway seeds through them and is best accompaniment with good quality salted butter.
Also newly added in the hotel’s online store are flavoured butters; the ‘Truffle Flavoured Butter’, a Lescure high quality French Unsalted Butter Roll flavoured with black truffle paste and truffle oil. And ‘Green Tea Flavoured Butter’, also a Lescure high quality French Unsalted Butter Roll flavoured with Japanese Green tea powder and white chocolate.
Sheraton Petaling Jaya’s Executive Pastry Chef, Shunmugasundaram Balakrishnan or ‘Chef Shan’,
commented “We want to wow our guests with unconventional and unique experiences. The ‘Sweet Delights’ is exactly that- out of the ordinary and unfamiliar in yet delightful. My team has put a lot of thoughts into how we can elevate our guest’s dining experience, especially on the online store.’
Chef Shan started his culinary career in 1995 and has since risen to greater heights, currently serving as the Executive Pastry Chef in Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel. Prior to this, he has vast experience heading
the pastry kitchen in several hotels within Malaysia and in Singapore.
