Happy Reunion at Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant @ One Word Hotel Petaling Jaya

One World Hotel Petaling Jaya is home to one of the best Cantonese restaurants in town — Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant. This Lunar New Year, Executive Chinese Chef, Tommy Choong Chan Hoo is offering a suite of set dinners that are perfect for reunions with your loved ones.  

And this year, Executive Chinese Chef Tommy Choong Chan Hoo of One World Hotel’s Zuan Yuan Chinese Restaurant has a star-studded resume and brings over his conspicuous passion for cooking, together with 20 years of expertise in Chinese cuisine. And this time, Chef Tommy Choong had created the awesome spread of delights for reunions.

(顺风顺水齐捞起) 龙虾肉黑松露捞生

Yee Sang with Lobster Meat, Black Truffle and Shredded Crystal Pear

We started off our meals with the yee sang. To mark a new year with joy, prosperous and happiness, let’s lou sang! This year, One World brings you with their delicious curated yee sang which is served with the Lobster Meat, Black Truffle and Shredded Crystal Pear in it. The dish is amazingly good and delicious where we can taste the fragrant of the black truffle in it. Perfectly delicious! 

(大鹏展翅成伟业)瑶柱发菜八珍海味羹

Braised Dried Scallop Soup with Eight Treasures, Dried Seafood and Sea Moss. 

Next, we have the Braised Dried Scallop Soup with Eight Treasures, Dried Seafood and Sea Moss where the broth comes amazingly delicious. We love the way they made it where they are packed with the awesome goodness ingredients and every sip of the soup is so nice and flavourful. Nothing beats the awesome broth which is packed with the awesome goodness ingredients and they are just perfect for soup lover like me.

(星光熠熠满华堂)罗惹什果酱伴烧鸭

Roasted Duck served with Pineapple, Mango, Cucumber and Rojak Sauce

It is such a unique dish to go for. One can enjoy the scrumptious awesome roast duck which is perfectly roasted and sides with the Pineapple, Mango, Cucumber and Rojak Sauce. The dish is pretty unique and we love the taste as well as the juiciness of the meat itself. They are absolutely an indulgence and you will definitely wants more after the first bite. 

(风调雨顺有盛余)鲜竹云耳红枣篜雪鱼

Steamed Cod Fish with Yun Mushroom, Red Date and Bean Curd (available only in CNY ala-carte menu)

Next we have the Steamed Cod Fish with Yun Mushroom, Red Date and Bean Curd. Each mouthful of the cod fish remains is flaky test and I love the texture of the fish itself. Every mouthful

Wok Fried Fresh Water Prawn with Supreme Butter Sauce served in Claypot

The Wok Fried Fresh Prawns are deliciously good and they are well coated with their signature supreme butter sauce served in claypot. We love the pulpy juicy prawns which is perfectly infused with the supreme butter sauce. It is so awesome and delicious!

Braised Abalone with Sea Cucumber, Dried Oyster and Garden Greens

One can enjoy the deliciously done braised abalone which is perfectly done and the abalone comes simply juicy. It is amazingly good and every mouthful is amazingly delicious! 

(一本万利堆金银)XO酱海鲜炒年糕

Wok Fried “Shanghai” Rice Cake with Assorted Seafood and Chef’s Seasonal Sauce

One can enjoy the deliciously made Rice Cake which is perfectly made. It is amazingly good and unique with the flavourful hint. It is really delicious as they are well stir fried with the aromatic blend and with the combination of the seafood, it makes the dish to another level.

Double Boiled Red Dates, Lemongrass and Ginger Tea with Glutinous Rice Ball

Steamed Traditional “Nian Gao” with Shredded Coconut

We ends our meal with the soothing sweet ending which is the Double Boiled Red Dates, Lemongrass and Ginger Tea with the Glutinous Rice Ball with it. 


Priced at RM1,798.00nett, RM1,988.00nett and RM2,298.00nett with a complimentary bottle of wine or Chinese tea (while stocks last). The promotion is available daily for lunch (12.00 noon to 2.30pm) and dinner (6.30pm to 10.30pm).

Zuan Yuan remains open on the eve of Lunar New Year and throughout the festive season. Private rooms are available and current table arrangements are reconfigured to meet social distancing guidelines, thus reducing capacity. Diners are encouraged to make reservation in advance to avoid disappointment.
