Indulge in the Culinary Delights of Hong Kong at Sek Tong Midvalley

December 15, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

This time we are visiting one of the restaurant in Mid Valley which is located near the Mid Valley Convention Centre

About the Restaurant

Step into Sek Tong and transport yourself to the vibrant culinary landscape of Hong Kong. This restaurant offers a delectable menu of traditional Cantonese dishes, noodles, and Hong Kong Tong Shui treats that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

At Sek Tong, the fusion of new and retro Hong Kong influences collide, resulting in a unique and enjoyable experience. The lively and raucous heritage of Hong Kong is reflected in the restaurant’s decor and atmosphere, providing an authentic ambiance that complements the exquisite cuisine.

The Food

Braised Quarter Leg with Rice

The Braised Quarter Leg with Rice at Sek Tong features tender and juicy meat that is cooked to perfection. The meat is braised in a savory and flavorful broth that infuses the meat with a depth of flavor that is simply irresistible. The dish is served with fluffy and fragrant rice, which complements the meat and sauce perfectly. The sauce is slightly salty, which adds a pleasant contrast to the richness of the meat.

Steamed Chicken Patty with Salted Fish Rice

We found the chicken patty to be slightly underwhelming and lacking in flavor, with the salted fish barely noticeable. The dish features a tender and moist steamed chicken patty that is served on a bed of fragrant salted fish rice. While the chicken patty is cooked to perfection, the flavor profile is slightly bland, and the salted fish is barely detectable

Overall Experience

In summary, while the overall food experience at Sek Thong may have been mixed, the Braised Quarter Leg with Rice is a must-try dish. We look forward to trying their desserts on our next visit and indulging in the rich and vibrant flavors of Cantonese cuisine.
