EXPRESS YOURSELF THIS HOLIDAY WITH TRENDING BEVERAGES FROM STARBUCKS MALAYSIA

November 26, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Starbucks Malaysia is calling on its fans to express themselves through beverages and their new hashtag challenge on TikTok, the #TikTokDrink Challenge. This challenge is to cultivate and encourage the creativity of local creators and customers to showcase their art and individuality. At the same time, Starbucks Malaysia has also collaborated with TikTok Malaysia to launch two of its top trending beverages from the platform in-stores, but with a plant-based twist.

While the trending beverages on the TikTok app use primarily dairy ingredients, Starbucks Malaysia has reimagined these flavors with plant-based alternatives by selecting non-dairy choices, which range from non-dairy milk and non-dairy whipped cream. This bold step offers customers a variety of options as part of their Starbucks experience. It initiates a conversation with the local community around the benefits of plant-based alternatives in a fun and informative way.

Available in-store from 22nd November – 31st December 2021, fans can look forward to Purple Summer #TikTokDrink and Upside Down Honey #TikTokDrink.

Purple Summer #TikTokDrink

Inspired by the purple hues of the sunset, this beverage blends the tartness of raspberry juice, non-dairy milk and topped with a generous swirl of plant-based whipped cream. It’s as simple as it is delicious and the perfect beverage to dance to your favorite K-POP songs. This beverage was made famous by Starbucks Malaysia’s very own barista @sophify_, which trended on TikTok with more than 50,000 likes and almost 500,000 views.

Upside Down Honey #TikTokDrink

Imagine if Starbucks made your Frappuccino backward. Instead of ending with whipped cream, this beverage starts with whipped cream, then topped with a blend of chocolate and honey syrup, then finished with another swirl of whipped cream and a rich, decadent chocolate drizzle. The video of this beverage has been liked more than 20,000 times on TikTok, with views exceeding 240,000.

Going plant-based builds on Starbucks sustainability commitments. The goal is to expand plant-based choices as an environmentally-friendly menu to contribute to being a resource-positive company. The introduction of new drinks and food to the menu while innovating with plant-based ingredients across its key platforms is just some of the company’s ways to reduce its carbon footprint.

Customers can post their videos on the TikTok App during the campaign to participate in the hashtag challenge. The challenges encourage people to be as creative as they like and show their individuality in whichever way possible. Starbucks stores across Malaysia will also be giving out #TikTokDrink sticker sets for any #TikTokDrink beverages sold in its stores. Customers can also participate in contests on TikTok Malaysia’s page (facebook.com/ tiktokmalaysiaofficial) or through Starbucks Malaysia’s TikTok (tiktok.com/mystarbucks) page for a variety of different prizes.

Experience the top trending Starbucks beverages on TikTok Malaysia today with the Purple Summer #TikTokDrink, priced at RM15.90 onwards, while the Upside Down Honey #TikTokDrink is priced at RM21.20 onwards. Earn stars with each beverage purchased to redeem a variety of drinks, food, and even merchandise. The #TikTokDrink will only be available from 22 November until 31 December 2021.
