The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3: Our Review

October 22, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Galaxy Z Fold 3 is one of the phones that attract my attention when it is launched. It is indeed a great device to own where they comes with a BIG improvement comparable to the first Samsung Fold.

With the success of release of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is complete with their full decked flagship grade hardware which is perfectly a must to have and this features indeed making Samsung bringing you the best productivity focused phone that you must have in 2021.

Colours

Set the tone you love. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G shines in three instant colour hues that sure makes you wanted it. The three choices are the Phantom Black, Phantom Green and Phantom Silver

Hardware

The biggest  achievements is of course the hardware where it carries IPX8 water resistance rating which means it can survive submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. The water resistance is completely something we look at especially we accidently poured some bit of water when drinking and more.

Comparable wise, it is thinner compare to the Z Fold 2 where it is actually 0.8 mm thinner than Z Fold 2 when it is closed. It is another plus to look about as we of course love more slimmer and thinner phone of course.  Samsung has comes up with loads of refinements in their product which assured that you will get a touch of premium look and touch as well.  Asides from that, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 give me the ultra-premium feel when on hand. The body is stronger and build with the Armor Aluminum together with the Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus protects the back and the cover display.

The Galaxy Z Fold 3 comes with the Flex Mode which brings you much convenience especially for those who needs your hands- free when making video calls, shooting selfies and many capturing nice video or photos.

Display

The screen comes with the 6.2 inch cover display and 7.6 inch folding display. With the refresh rate at 120 Hz; it means you will get a more smooth experience no matter which screen you are using.

They are completed with a Dynamic AMOLED panel which is able to support HDR10+. This will makes scrolling on the screen super smooth and this is perfect when you are scrolling on social media accounts like facebook and Instagram. With this., the colours comes simply vibrant and beautiful.

Another highlights is Samsung is the 7.6 inch display which is big enough for using them for most of everything from watching videos, gaming or even doing some social media posting and more. And with the big display, it makes it more convenient with the SPen where you can draw, take notes and do some writing with it.

Camera

For the camera, Samsung Z Fold 3 uses the same sensor as Z Fold 2 for the back which is at 12MP Dual Pixel main camera with OIS, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP 2x telephoto camera.  The camera quality is pretty impressive.

The camera brings you with the high detail, wide dynamic image and vivid color for both day and in low -light condition. They have the automatic Night Mode which helps as well.  The camera comes with 12 MP Telephoto Camera, 12 MP Wide – Angle Camera and 12 MP Ultra Wide Camera. They comes with 4 MP Under Display Camera with 10 MP Cover Camera  which makes selfie goes better.

These are some of the pictures we took.

And for the night view, here you go

You can also check on your photo that you took without heading to the gallery.

Fold for the Flex mode or turn on Capture View Mode in the Camera to shift the layout. Not just that, the Samsung ZFold 3 gives us a great experience as the Flex Mode is one of the key! It let me have a hands- free picture when taking pictures and video and the cover screen preview let you use your camera for higher quality, ultra wide and zoom in selfies.

As for the video, Galaxy Z Fold 3 supports 4k 60 fps video on its primary rear camera while the display camera support Full HD fps video. If you are using the ultra-wide and telephoto  lenses; it only able to support 4K 30 fps video. The video comes pretty good.

The Battery

As for the battery, they are build in with 4,400 mAh battery. With the cover display which is running at better performance which is at 120Hz, the decrease of battery is noticeable and we have tried using it and it can last us around 2 days with single charge.  What I love is they comes with the 25W fast charging.

The Performance

As for the performance, they are indeed impressive. Running at the Android 11 with One UI 3.11, the performance are pretty impressive where there is no lack and I can run up to 3 apps at the same time. That’s marvelous when it comes to doing work with the phone.

Another feature I love is their Drag & Split Feature where you can actually do two things with the 2 window open. It is so easy as you can check out information at one side and do other things at other screen. It comes simply easy and I do not need to shift and swipe to other screen.

The phone comes with the Snapdragon 888 and 128GB of RAM. With this specs, you will assured of great performance too. They are indeed fast and there is no lag at all when using them. Whether is gaming, watching movies or even doing work, social media and all, you will definitely be pleased with their great performance.

Well asides from that, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 completes with the DeX mode and you are guaranteed to get three major OS upgrades and up to 5 years of security updates too.

Overall Review

Overall, the phone comes simply impressive. They comes with great performance and adding in the SPen will definitely give you a impressive experience. I love it so much especially the Drag and Split Feature and more.
