July 21, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Discover a world of oriental treasures at Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur, where an enthralling ensemble of heartwarming, timeless baked classics, contemporary snow skin creations and exquisite bold & boozy snow skin gems delicately perfected by our master chefs, take center stage as we revel in the golden spirit of the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

A true depiction of elegance and sophistication, these dainty treasured delicacies come beautifully encased in a thoughtfully-designed turquoise hued chest, complete with a tag around its handle. Re-inspired by Le Méridien with mid-century European flair yet steeped in Chinese tradition, the colour bears a close resemblance to that of

Le Méridien’s official brand colour –the MidCentury Blue. Simply unclasp the heavy- duty gold clasp to unlock our meticulously handcrafted Mid-Autumn Treasures.

Easily repurposed as a jewellery or vanity box, it is right at home on any dressing table or as a decorative item for a touch of glamour, making it the perfect gift to family, friends and business associates. It would be hard for them to not be impressed!

Baked to golden perfection, our TIMELESS BAKED CLASSICS add a touch of nostalgia to the Mid-Autumn festivities. Fall head over heels with the White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk – the perfect accompaniment to a cup of aromatic Chinese tea. Alternatively, take heart in our glorious Mother-of-Pearl Pure Lotus Paste with Single Yolk; or revel in the true indulgence of the Assorted Fruits & Nuts – a tasteful delight of almonds, walnuts, white sesame, redcurrants, melon seeds and zesty tangerine peel creating sensational texture and flavour; and the Red Bean Paste – crafted to suit contemporary palates, the delicate sweetness of fresh red bean paste is subtle and simple.

Every year, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur introduces a curated collection of CONTEMPORARY SNOW SKIN CREATIONS that is locally-inspired. Delight in the caramelised flavours of ‘pisang emas’, or better known as Lady Finger bananas in English, enrobed in snow skin made of blue pea flower resulting in a snow skin mooncake that features ethereal strokes of blue on white as you take a bite into the artisanal Caramelised Banana ‘Emas’ with Sea Salt. For those with a taste for the exotic, the unique Grapefruit with Wild ‘Tualang’ Honey creation is a must try! This refreshing treat features crisp fruity notes with juicy bites of grapefruit which are soaked with wild ‘Tualang’ honey for up to 24 hours. Collected from the Malaysian rainforest by the Tualang Orang Asli, the ‘Tualang’ honey adds its scrumptious flavour to its health and wound-healing benefits, to make these delicate masterpieces perfect to satisfy all sweet-tooth cravings. Furthermore, the sweetness of this local honey melds perfectly with the fresh citrusy fragrance of grapefruit. Making a comeback is our crowd-favourite coffee-infused snow skin mooncake. Savour a new rendition: the Signature illy Coffee “Macchiato” & Roasted Hazelnut where illy Coffee is blended in both snow skin and paste. The fragrance and taste of illy coffee is intense and utterly delightful, promising a sensorial experience of taste – a recognition towards Le Méridien’s global brand partnership with Italian brand, illycaffe.

Last but not least, be captivated by our alluring collection of EXQUISITE BOLD & BOOZY SNOW SKIN GEMS this season. With four choices to choose from, each flavour has a personality of its own guaranteed to set your taste buds towards unparalleled pleasure. Inspired by a refreshing summer cocktail that is perfect to indulge on especially on a lazy, hot day, surprise your taste buds with the mooncake rendition of Italian Delight: Prosecco-Raspberry Limoncello. Swathed in a prosecco- infused shell, it boasts a refreshing sweet-tangy flavour that comes from the raspberries and zesty notes of limoncello. This snow skin mooncake is also

Instagram-worthy as it comes in hues of soft orange and peach, providing it a delicate appearance. This year, snow skin mooncake connoisseurs and chocoholics alike can look forward to a new flavour that’s guaranteed to please. Paying homage to the Chocolate Martini, the Berried Treasure: Bacardi Rum-Flavored Chocolate Ganache & Dried Strawberries packs a punch with its dried strawberries and rum- infused paste, complete with a delicious rum-filled white chocolate centre for a sweet aftertaste. For those looking for a pick-me-up post-dinner, the Absolut Vodka with illy Espresso will assist to jolt you awake with its boozy magical powers. Our award-winning mooncakes have emerged as winners in The Star Newspaper’s Mooncake Awards for two consecutive years (2019 & 2020) – an accomplishment we’re all extremely proud of considering we only started to introduce them to the Malaysian market back in 2019.
