PAVILION BUKIT JALIL PAVES THE WAY FOR GREATER ACCESSIBILITY IN BUKIT JALIL

May 3, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

Pavilion Bukit Jalil – The Icon of Connectivity today opened a new flyover, directly linking Bukit Jalil City (Jalan 13/155C) to Puchong via the Bukit Jalil Highway. Built by Malton Berhad (Malton), the innovative property developer behind the iconic 50-acre Bukit Jalil City, this one-way 300-meter flyover began construction in 2018 and was completed 6 months ahead of schedule to benefit the  community with greater accessibility. The flyover will relieve 25% of traffic coming from Bukit Jalil Highway during peak hours and ease traffic for over 11,000 daily road users once Bukit Jalil City development is fully completed as part of Bukit Jalil City’s Masterplan.
Present at the ribbon cutting ceremony were Datuk Steven Tan, Director of Infrastructure Planning Department of Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur, accompanied by Datuk Lee Whay Hoong, Director of Regal Path Sdn Bhd; Datuk Abdul Wahab Khalil, Adviser to Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn Bhd; Mr. Hong Lay Chuan, Executive Director of Malton; and Mr. Robert Spinks, Project Director (Development) of Malton.
“This new flyover will not only improve accessibility for the Bukit Jalil community, but also benefit Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s tenants by connecting the mall to a bigger catchment population surrounding Bukit Jalil. Along with other upgrades to surrounding infrastructure, we are committed to create a new highly-accessible metropolis in Bukit Jalil, with Pavilion Bukit Jalil as its landmark lifestyle and shopping destination,” shared Dato’ Joyce Yap, Retail Planner of Pavilion Bukit Jalil.
The overall upgrades to the infrastructure surrounding Bukit Jalil City’s Masterplan make Pavilion Bukit Jalil highly accessible and the linkage to the whole of Klang Valley through various highways makes it easy and convenient to drive to Pavilion Bukit Jalil, reinforcing its position as the Icon of  Connectivity. To date, alongside the new flyover, the masterplan includes the 100ft road, widening of roads to 6 lanes, new U-turns, an underpass and tunnel access to the upcoming mall’s basement carpark.

“Road connectivity along Bukit Jalil have enhanced in recent years, in anticipation of the upcoming Pavilion Bukit Jalil and other major developments in Bukit Jalil City by Malton. The new flyover will definitely shorten my travel time to work and ease peak hour traffic congestion,” shared Mr. Mathu, resident of the Bukit Jalil City neighbourhood.
“Overall traffic flow in Bukit Jalil will definitely be smoother with this new flyover. It’s much easier to exit my place to Puchong now. Malton definitely did great in planning a well-connected city. I look forward to the new Pavilion Bukit Jalil – which is directly connected to my condo and the recreational park via the pedestrian link bridge,” commented Ms. Hee Siew Kim, resident of The Park Sky Residence.
“This new flyover by Malton will definitely reduce travel time and ease traffic congestion for customers, shop owners and staff working at the Signature Shop Offices while residing in the surrounding areas like Subang, Sunway and Kinrara.
With Pavilion Bukit Jalil opening soon, I anticipate a bigger influx of new customers to Bukit Jalil,” shared Mr. Alex, owner of a bookstore at the Signature Shop Offices, Bukit Jalil City. The catchment population of 1.9 million in and around Bukit Jalil will also enjoy better foot-traffic accessibility with 4 upcoming pedestrian link bridges expected to be completed in June 2021.
These link bridges will directly improve pedestrian accessibility between the mall, the 80-acre Bukit Jalil Recreational Park, as well as the
business centre across the Bukit Jalil Highway.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil is on track to open in Q4 2021 and will be the new social haven and epicentre for exciting events and immersive lifestyle. Its mega event spaces such as the 28,000 sq ft PIAZZA is the first-of-its-kind outdoor venue covered with an impressive 35m high canopy for outdoor entertainment, concerts, and events.

The 4,500 sq ft CENTRE COURT will host grand festivities and year-long activities while consumer fairs and exhibitions will thrive at the 47,000 sq ft EXHIBITION CENTRE.
With five retail floors, shoppers will experience best-in-classs hopping at unique concept stores, dining in elegant restaurants and cafes as well as enjoy immersive leisure activities at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, anchored by the newest PARKSON departmental store in Malaysia, the biggest DADI CINEMA in Malaysia, first-of-its-kind concept supermarket THE FOOD MERCHANT, HARVEY NORMAN Superstore and BLUE ICE SNOW PARK featuring aurora lights that simulate Northern Lights for a unique night skating experience. Pavilion Bukit Jalil will be the next iconic landmark for regional shopping tourism –   complementing Tourism Malaysia’s vision for Malaysia to be the shopping hub for Asia
