KEEPING THE SPIRITS UP THIS CHINESE NEW YEAR

February 6, 2021 By StrawberrY Gal - Event Leave a Comment

Suria KLCC is taking on hues of red all over as Chinese Malaysians prepare to welcome the Year of the Ox next month.

The Centre Court has been transformed into a stunning Chinese Garden decorated with beautiful red lanterns and cherry blossom trees set to mesmerise shoppers and visitors alike. The display depicts a garden in a traditional Chinese setting supported by vibrant CNY-themed decorations at each Suria KLCC main entrance.

“Amid the ongoing Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0, Suria KLCC is not sparing any effort to enliven the atmosphere in a manner befitting of the very important Chinese New Year 2021, whilst also keeping you safe with our thermal scanning and enhanced sanitising crew. We are confident that shoppers will be impressed and surely appreciate our tastefully designed Chinese Garden decorations,” said Andrew Brien, CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd.

“The Year of the Ox will be marked with exuberance at Suria KLCC, be it through the physical transformation of the mall, as well as exciting online CNY activities to keep our shoppers engaged during the MCO as we usher in yet another auspicious year. Shoppers can rest assured that we are doing our best to bring cheer after everyone had ample time to reflect on the year that has just gone by,” Brien added.

This year, Suria KLCC will be focusing on the country’s dedicated frontliners involved in fighting Covid-19.

“Our frontliners are working tirelessly to protect us. Suria KLCC has pledged to recognise these frontliners for their immense sacrifice, invaluable dedication, commitment and steadfast effort in managing the situations during this unprecedented time,” said Brien.

For this, Suria KLCC will be donating RM15,000 worth of food to those on duty at Hospital Sungai Buloh. These consist of beverages such as coffee, tea and Milo, as well as an assortment of biscuits and cup noodles as these items are really in demand given that our medical frontliners don’t really have time or the convenience to sit down and enjoy a proper meal.

Brien added that Suria KLCC will continue to monitor the situation to see whether more assistance could be rendered to our frontliners and medical institutions. Elsewhere, shoppers can be assured that Suria KLCC remains a safe and comfortable environment, given its high standards of cleanliness and disinfection that is on par with best global standards, daily.

With this assurance in mind, shoppers can enjoy the ambience of the mall from now until 21 February, accompanied by a host of offers.

Exciting virtual contests and activities

i. LUCKY OX Contest

A fun online contest, the LUCKY OX contest invites participants to hunt for 8 oxen on Suria KLCC’s website. The 8 oxen will appear randomly on the mall’s homepage (www.suriaklcc.com.my).

Participants embark on this “hunt” by clicking on the different coloured ox (or tapping on their smartphone screens) to collect all 8 oxen before proceeding to fill up their particulars, accompanied by their very own creative CNY greeting in order to qualify for the draw to win  RM100 worth of shopping vouchers. Thirty winners will be selected based on the most creative CNY greeting for the LUCKY OX contest that runs from 22nd January until 4 th February.

ii. “Share To Win”

“Share To Win” is a mini contest designed for the Facebook fans where they can share posts about the LUCKY OX contest. Eighty winners will be picked based on their Facebook activities with #ShareToWin over four days that fall between 22nd January to 2nd February. Participants should look out for this hashtag on Suria KLCC’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/SuriaKLCCMall) in any post within the contest period, and be among the first few to share it on their Facebook wall and tag @SuriaKLCCMall as well as three friends to win a RM50 shopping voucher.

iii. Augmented Reality (AR) Lion Dance

For those who must have a lion dance during CNY, there will also be an online activity to celebrate this cultural element via an Augmented Reality (AR) Lion Dance, also tagged with #ShareToWin. The first 20 people to share this AR Lion Dance on their Facebook wall and tag @SuriaKLCCMall and three friends, will also be rewarded with the RM50 shopping voucher.
