The LEGO Group Announces its First LEGO® Certified Store in the South of Malaysia

December 2, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

The LEGO Group announces the opening of its first LEGO® Certified Store (LCS) in the southern region of Malaysia today. Located at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru and managed by Box of Bricks, this is the 14th LCS in Malaysia to offer an easy access to the world of LEGO.

A family-friendly destination, the new LCS will add a local flavour with a diorama of prominent landmark – Bangunan Sultan Ibrahim – as its centrepiece. Intricately built with 15,000 LEGO bricks in 6 weeks by Bruce Lee Chiau Han and Michael Choy Kum Weng from Synergy LEGO User Group.

Kids and adults alike are also welcome to create the LEGO set of their dreams at the Pick a Brick Wall where they can find the desired brick to complete their masterpiece, or build their own LEGO characters piece by piece at the Build a Minifigure Station. In addition, children can come together to build the fastest racing car at the store’s interactive play area ‘LEGO Race’ or participate in other hands-on activities that celebrate their creativity.

“Following our opening of a new store at 1 Utama Shopping Centre last month, we are excited to open the very first LEGO Certified Store at Johor Bahru to bring learning through play to more children in Malaysia. The beauty of our LEGO System in Play is the ability to build, unbuild and rebuild with LEGO bricks, thus stretching one’s imagination and creativity while having fun. Our stores are often the first touchpoint we have with children and their parents to kickstart their LEGO journey. It is our wish to continue expanding our footprint in Malaysia to develop more builders and shapers of tomorrow,” said Rohan Mathur, Marketing Director, Southeast Asia at The LEGO Group.

Shoppers can look forward to the entire LEGO assortment and its extended line at the LCS. These include popular LEGO themes such as LEGO Super MarioTM and LEGO Monkie Kid, as well as LCS-exclusive direct-to-consumer ranges, such as the newly-launched LEGO Harry PotterTM Diagon Alley™, LEGO Star WarsTM Mos Eisley Cantina™ and LEGO Elf Club House.

As part of the opening promotion, the first 50 shoppers will receive a special free gift. In addition, those who spend a minimum of RM299 in store from 30 November 2020 will receive a 40415 LEGO Store set, while stocks last. From 30 November to 6 December 2020, those who spend RM250 will receive a RM50 voucher which can be used between 30 November and 31 December 2020 with a minimum spend of RM50; while those who spend a minimum of RM499 during the same duration, will receive a LEGO laptop bag with four colours to choose from, while stocks last.

LEGO fans and shoppers can head over to the newly opened LCS located at:

Lot G-055, Ground Floor,

The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey

1, Persiaran Southkey 1,

80150 Johor Bahru,

Johor
