FLY ME TO THE MOONBAR

October 2, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Melaka’s highly anticipated new entertainment and gastronomic hub, The Moonbar Restaurant and Lounge (“The Moonbar”), has officially landed atop of the Ames Hotel, a 5-star hospitality enclave and city resort located at Ayer Keroh, the gateway to Melaka.

Ames Hotel is a member of LSL Hotel Group, which is the hospitality arm of Sheng Tai International Sdn Bhd (“Sheng Tai International”). LSL Hotel Group is also managed by Alorie Hospitality, a well-established and experienced hotel management specialist with a portfolio of world-class properties across the globe.

Inspired by the classic ancient Chinese legend Chang’e, the goddess of the moon, The Moonbar allows one to step into a microgravity journey, escaping from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The bar indoor emanates a stylish yet cosy atmosphere while the outdoor terrace is set against the beautiful skyline of Melaka. There is also a dedicated room that offers a quiet and serene ambiance, perfect for private social get-togethers.

Dato’ Leong Sir Ley, Founder and Chairman of Sheng Tai International, said, “Following the successful opening of Ames Hotel last year, we are pleased to announce the opening of The Moonbar, Melaka’s most unique bar to date.”

“This new bar is the result of our passion for creating exceptional dining and entertainment destinations that celebrate and showcase the beauty of the State of Melaka. We look forward to welcoming locals and visitors to The Moonbar and will continue to add unique landmarks and attractions to Melaka’s tourism, property and hospitality industries.”

Guests can look forward to European and modern contemporary cuisine by Chef Muhamad Farhan Aszme, who has over a decade of experience under his belt. Chef Muhamad Farhan has been creating ‘music’ at some esteemed restaurants around the world, including the German cruise ship, Pullman Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur as well as Sabayon Restaurant at EQ Kuala Lumpur. The menu is accompanied by an extensive list of premium wines, spirits and cocktails, carefully curated with every guest and every sip in mind.

As the name suggests, every element in The Moonbar was guided by the concept of the astronomical body as well as the feelings it evokes. The interiors invite guests to experience out of this universe with its minimal aesthetic, complemented by vibrant furnishings. The indoor dining areais decorated with galaxy-inspired lightings while the outdoor terrace, which features an outdoor bar, creates an immersive moonlight experience. All in all, creating the ultimate experience in dining and entertainment.

The Moonbar is open from 4 p.m. until 12 p.m., seven days a week during the enforcement of the Recovery Movement Control Order, and reservations can be made by calling +6017 463 6942.
