FULL MOON BY NOBU KUALA LUMPUR

August 25, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

The Mid-Autumn festival is nearing, where lanterns will light up the sky and families will take part in the various traditions together, one of them being indulging in an array of delicious mooncakes that are available during this period. Nobu Kuala Lumpur is excited to present its mooncake offering – Full Moon by Nobu Kuala Lumpur – which will be available from 28th August to 1st October 2020, while stocks last.

Full Moon by Nobu Kuala Lumpur comes in four variants of the time-honoured mooncake providing guests a unique interpretation true to Nobu’s identity. The Full Moon by Nobu Kuala Lumpur mooncake box comes with one of each flavour being Green Tea Lotus, Black Sesame Lotus, Kabocha (Pumpkin) Lotus with Single Yolk and Red Bean Paste, priced at RM128 Nett.

“Growing up with family values steeped in tradition and having celebrated this festival since childhood, I always look forward to curating the mooncake selection with the kitchen team each year. Much like our Omakase offerings, we put a great deal of time and energy into the design and the flavours of the mooncakes to ensure our guests can enjoy not only the experience, but also the best quality. We went with traditional flavours that we know and love because there’s a sense of nostalgia attached to mooncakes. Whether you gather with family for a reunion dinner in person or virtually, one thing’s for sure; these flavours not only serve as part of a tradition, but a reminder of all the previous year’s you’ve celebrated the festival.” said Executive Chef Philip Leong.

“From the design to the taste, these mooncakes reflect our DNA and provide a flavourful experience rooted in traditional ingredients combined with Nobu’s Japanese influence. When we were tasting the different flavours, the fan favourite across everyone in the kitchen team was the Kabocha (Pumpkin) Lotus with Single Yolk. Let’s just say there weren’t any leftovers that day.” said Head Sushi Chef Chico.
The Green Tea Lotus mooncake has a sweet taste profile meshed in floral notes making for a well-balanced delight. The Black Sesame Lotus mooncake layers the nutty and earthy flavours for a savoury and full-bodied taste.  Bite into the Kabocha (Pumpkin) Lotus with Single Yolk mooncake with its slightly sweet and earthy flavours that gives a mix of textures and notes in one taste. Last but not least, the widely recognised traditional Red Bean Paste mooncake is a go-to choice with its sweet and rich texture and will surely transport you back to yesteryear.

The Full Moon by Nobu Kuala Lumpur mooncake box that promises the moon and delivers out-of-this-world flavours is priced at RM128 Nett and will be available at Nobu Kuala Lumpur from 28th August to 1st October or at Mid Valley Megamall’s mooncake exhibition at South Court from 4th September to 1st October.
