EQ: Tripadvisor 2020 Traveller’s Choice Award

August 5, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Yesterday, EQ announced the newest feather in its cap, a significant accolade to add on to an extensive collection. The hotel has been recognised as a 2020 Travellers’ Choice winner on Tripadvisor, with over 215 reviews earned since its opening last year.
Based on a full year of Tripadvisor reviews, the very best tourism establishments are recognised through the quality and quantity of reviews, ratings and saves from travellers everywhere. By consistently receiving remarkable traveller feedback, EQ has been placed in the top 10% of hospitality businesses around the globe.
“We are both thrilled and humbled by this recognition and I am forever grateful to the EQ team who always strive to deliver,” said Robert Lagerwey, General Manager of EQ. “We have always prided ourselves on our warm Malaysian hospitality since the original Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur. It truly inspires us to continue exceeding expectations and giving our guests quality and memorable experiences.”
Hotel Equatorial Kuala Lumpur was closed in 2012 for a complete redevelopment and on 1 March 2019, EQ was revealed to all, with a new brand and identity. An evolution from its former 18 storeys, the 52-storey hotel embodies the group’s dedication to exceeding expectations with top-notch service and genuine hospitality. Strategically located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur along Jalan Sultan Ismail, major points of interest such as KLCC, Changkat Bukit Bintang, the KL Tower, Pavilion, and many more are just a walk away.
“Winners of the 2020 Travellers’ Choice Awards should be proud of this distinguished recognition,” said Kanika Soni, Chief Commercial Officer at Tripadvisor. “Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements. Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travellers as the world begins to venture out again.”
