Following much anticipation, the Adventure Waterpark Desaru Coast is gearing up to welcome guests back on 9 July. Residents and visitors to Malaysia’s southern region who look forward to ‘thrills and spills’ in the new normal, can now look forward to experiencing the Adventure Waterpark, one of the biggest waterparks in the world, sprawling over 25 acres and featuring a unique mix of more than 20 wet and dry rides, slides and attractions.
As part of its reopening, from 9 July to 31 August 2020, Adventure Waterpark is offering enticing treats for visitors especially Malaysians, to thank them for their resilience, cooperation and tenacity in working together to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Though we remain vigilant, Malaysia has much to celebrate and be thankful for as the number of active Covid-19 cases in the country has seen a downward trend in recent times. We owe much of this success to our frontliners, who took the sacrifice and burden upon themselves to ensure our wellbeing. If we are to expand this list of frontliners, there are just so many more people that we aptly should recognise but may not be able to list them all here.
The contribution from every one, fronting during the locked down period, has been priceless and we wish to humbly recognise their efforts by offering an opportunity for everyone to experience our water park, at our appreciative rates, as we open our doors,” said Shahrul Nizar Ahmad, General Manager of Adventure Waterpark.
The Adventure Waterpark will be offering Malaysians with a valid Mykad special lowered rates as part of the appreciation programme, at RM59 for adults and RM39 for children and senior citizens, with a ‘Buy One, Free One*” admission. Other guests will enjoy discounts of more than 50% for regular admission passes at RM75 for an adult pass (normal price: RM151) and RM49 for children between 3 and 11 years of age and seniors aged 60 and above (normal price: RM113).
“We are truly excited to open our doors once again after a lengthy hiatus, and welcome our fellow citizens and residents of Malaysia, in recognition of the united stance we took to combat Covid-19. Following months of being confined at home, we are confident that Malaysian residents will see this as an incentive to celebrate life as part of a new normal while remaining socially responsible,” he added.
He also stressed that in line with the new normal, Adventure Waterpark will put into effect strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for all visitors and employees, to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing.
“We are leaving no stone unturned as the safe enjoyment of our facilities and attractions at Adventure Waterpark is our utmost concern,” Shahrul reiterated.
Among the security measures set in place, which are aligned to regulations by Malaysia’s National Security Council (NSC), are stringent entry protocol for visitors while social distancing regulations will also be enforced. The maximum daily capacity of the park will be reduced to 1,500 people, down from the usual 5,000, to facilitate the enforcement of social distancing. Stringent emergency protocols will also be put into effect, while park ambassadors will be situated around the park to assist guests.
Meanwhile, the water quality and chlorine levels at all the park’s attractions will be strictly maintained, with tests carried out every two hours. All employees and visitors will be encouraged to wear face masks when not in the water. To facilitate this, face masks will be sold at strategic spots throughout the park.
Other measures which have been put into place include the sanitisation of the park’s attractions and facilities at periodic intervals; controlled capacity and sanitisation of showers and lockers; the stringent guidelines for handling and serving of food and beverage; and temperature checks for all employees and visitors. Adventure Waterpark will also encourage guests to use electronic payments and e-wallets when making purchases within the park.
Adventure Waterpark is truly a hidden gem in Johor’s Desaru Coast, which is curated as a new integrated destination resort in Malaysia with a portfolio of globally renowned hotels, resorts and attractions.
