MAGGI(R) Bubur Lambuk program next step in Nestlé Cares COVID-19 Relief Program

May 19, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

In the spirit of Ramadan, MAGGI® is providing nourishment for more than 120,000 Malaysians during the fasting month. This initiative is part of Nestlé Malaysia’s RM15 million contribution towards COVID-19 relief efforts under its Nestlé Cares initiative, in line with the Company’s commitment to support Malaysians during these challenging times.

It has been a tradition over the years for MAGGI® to distribute MAGGI® bubur lambuk, the traditional savoury porridge annually given out as a wholesome buka puasa meal in the month of Ramadan. This year, more than 120,000 bowls of MAGGI bubur lambuk will be distributed along with 20,000 Nestlé Food and Beverage Packs to B40 families and students, underprivileged communities including orphanages and welfare homes, healthcare practitioners and other frontliners including Polis Diraja Malaysia and the Armed Forces who have been instrumental in the nation’s fight against the pandemic.

Ms Geetha Balakrishna, Business Executive Officer, MAGGI®, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad said, “We are privileged to be able to continue providing nourishment for Malaysians. While this is an annual initiative for MAGGI® during the fasting month, this year it is all the more important for us to give back to those in need, as well as to show our humble appreciation to the front liners who have been working so hard in these trying times.”

Mr Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad, added, “This is part of our commitment to support vulnerable communities as part of our Nestlé Cares COVID-19 relief program. This is very meaningful to us. Ramadan is a time for compassion and generosity. We hope that this effort by MAGGI will make a positive difference for many, as will the other initiatives in preparation under our different brands. All of them will continue reflecting Nestle’s purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future, and our specific commitment to support Malaysian families in these times of need.”

Reflecting the Company’s purpose of enhancing quality of life and contributing to a healthier future, Nestlé is dedicated to doing its part in helping Malaysians carry through these difficult times through its various initiatives.
