F&NHB PLEDGES TO SUPPORT 10,000 FAMILIES, NATIONAL FRONTLINERS AND UNDERPRIVILEGED THIS RAMADAN

May 14, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

The holy month of Ramadan is a symbol of charity and goodwill, generosity and kindness. In line with these principles, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&NHB), through its iconic brand 100PLUS – Malaysia’s No. 1 isotonic drink, will mark this year’s Ramadan by contributing over one million in products and essentials to the nation’s frontliners, underprivileged families and individuals under its ‘Tabahkan Hatimu, Sinarkan Ramadanmu’ programme. F&NHB has also pledged to support 10,000 families from B40 communities in Peninsular and East Malaysia with
provisions during the holy month.

Through the programme, more than 500,000 F&N products inclusive of 100PLUS drinks and special meal boxes will be contributed to frontliners including hospitals, police stations and fire stations to break fast, ensuring they stay hydrated and energised to perform essential services during the fasting month. The Group has collaborated with local food providers to prepare meals to ensure local businesses receive adequate support to generate income that will help sustain their businesses.

F&NHB will also distribute dry food rations such as rice, cooking oil, flour, oats, along with its products such as 100PLUS isotonic drink, F&N SEASONS Soy and Tea, F&N Magnolia UHT milk and F&N canned milk to more than 10,000 families including homeless people, orphanages and old folks home. Alongside these product and essential donations, F&NHB will also contribute face masks, sanitisers and adult diapers to these beneficiaries.

F&NHB Chairman, Tengku Syed Badarudin Jamalullail said, “This year’s holy month of Ramadan comes at a time when the nation and the world are in need of compassion, empathy and strength to overcome the COVID-19 challenges. Our ‘Tabahkan Hatimu, Sinarkan Ramadanmu’ programme aims to share the joy and blessings of Ramadan with the less fortunate community as  well as our unsung heroes who are working tirelessly around the clock to safeguard our nation during these trying times.

“We would also like to express our sincere appreciation to the country’s frontline heroes for their hard work, dedication and sacrifice in the fight against COVID-19. We hope that our contribution will help them enjoy the comfort and familiarity of a hot meal when they break their fast,” said Tengku Syed Badarudin.

As this year’s Ramadan and Hari Raya celebrations will be slightly different from previous years, F&NHB is offering special bundles for its wide range of products on F&N Life, its e-commerce store to provide even more value and help Malaysians re-create their favourite food and drinks that are commonly found in Ramadan Bazaars, from the comfort and safety of their own homes.

Tengku Syed Badarudin added, “The Group aims to spread the message of resilience, hope and happiness to Malaysians during this holy month so that we will emerge from the current crisis stronger and more united than ever.”

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in Malaysia, F&NHB has contributed over 200,000 products to support vulnerable communities and keep the nation’s frontliners hydrated and energised – in both Peninsular and East Malaysia.

F&N has been synonymous with festivities and nostalgic memories for Malaysians as its products have always been popular during festive seasons and various occasions throughout the years.

The ‘Tabahkan Hatimu, Sinarkan Ramadanmu’ programme is part of F&NHB’s annual initiative to spread Ramadan cheer to the less fortunate community since 2004, which aspires to offer underprivileged communities opportunity to experience the bliss that Ramadan brings while strengthening bonds among Malaysians of different cultures and at all levels of society.
