Punthuk Setumbu @ Yogyakarta: An Insta- Worthy Spot for Sunrise!

February 2, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Punthuk Setumbu is one of the best places for the sunrise hunter and one can witness the beautiful sunrise (if you are lucky).

With the top of the Borobudur Temple silhouette and Mount Merapi as the background. Punthuk Setumbu is popular among those who love to catch the glimpse of the famous Borobudur Temple. Located at the Monoreh Mountain, the hill is a farm field maintained by the locals.

Punthuk Setumbu is one of the places which is well visited by the tourist and in here, one has to climb up the paved stairs and it takes around 10 – 20 minutes climb to get to the Sunrise Observation Deck. We visited the spot and around 4.00 am in the morning and one can get a shot of the beautiful sunrise here.

In here, they have wide space to grab your insta- worthy pictures.  And in here, one can grab wide variety of  picture spot that is worth for the walk. And it is recommended that you have a proper shoes ( sportshoes) and bring along a torch as it is dark when you are walking up.

For those who are looking for a place to snap your Instagram- friendly pictures or even to witness the beautiful sunrise, this is indeed one of the places to go!
