TASTE THE PEAK OF STRAWBERRY SEASON AT THE SHILLA

January 18, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Over the last decade, South Korea has cultivated a global following for one of its most popular fruit crops – the strawberry. Renowned for its vibrant crimson hue, tangy sweetness and juicy bite, the berry has ushered in a plethora of strawberry-centric confections across the country. This winter, The Shilla Hotels & Resorts welcomes strawberry season with a variety of special dining offers and activities across its properties.

The Shilla Seoul

The flagship property of The Shilla Hotels & Resorts, The Shilla Seoul takes its name from the ancient Shilla Dynasty in Korea– known as the “Golden Age” for its art and commerce. The hotel’s spectacular location in the heart of Seoul embodies the refinement and elegance of Korean culture, making it the best place in town to enjoy a quintessential taste of Korea’s strawberry season. The Library, a contemporary lounge and bar located on the first floor of the property, presents the perfect setting to enjoy the fresh local fruit in the form of the ever-popular bingsu, a refreshing shaved ice dessert crowned with plump and luscious strawberries. The Premium Strawberry Bingsu will be available from 3rd January to 29th February 2020.

The Shilla Jeju

The Shilla Jeju is a leading destination resort on the idyllic Jeju island, a southern holiday island located three hours from Seoul. Here, the island’s subtropical climate enables visitors to experience Korean strawberries in a different light.

This season, The Shilla Jeju’s open-air Poolside Bar will be serving a selection of delectable strawberry delights best savoured while soaking up the expansive views of the lush Soombi Garden or after a relaxing dip in the heated pools. Guests can also visit The Shilla Jeju’s lobby lounge Badang to enjoy the seasonal Special Strawberry Frappe. Made with succulent Jeju strawberries, this refreshing ice-blended dessert is available until 29th February 2020

Visitors craving a taste of freshly harvested strawberries can do so through The Shilla Jeju’s innovative G.A.O. program led by the hotel’s knowledgeable outdoor activity specialists. Families and couples can appreciate Jeju’s abundance of nature with the Strawberry Picking Experience, where guests can explore the outdoors as they pick fresh juicy strawberries at the nearby eco-friendly Jeoji-ri Strawberry farm, and discover more about Jeju’s signature fruit. Available until 29th February 2020 for a fee of KRW 25,000 per person.
