FAIRFIELD BY MARRIOTT MAKES ITS DEBUT IN MALAYSIA WITH THE OPENING IN BINTULU, BORNEO – AN OIL AND GAS HUB FOR MALAYSIA AND EMERGING DESTINATION

December 30, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon opens today, marking the debut of the brand in Malaysia. The international brand is one of the fastest growing in Asia Pacific and will be bringing its warm hospitality and simple, seamless experience to Malaysia.
Nestled in a coastal town on the island of Borneo, Bintulu is one of the largest oil and gas hubs of the country. Within close proximity to major multi-national corporations, the new Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon is the ideal choice for business or leisure travelers.
“The opening of Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon marks another significant milestone for the brand’s continued expansion in Asia Pacific, said Mike Fulkerson, Vice President, Brand and Marketing, Asia Pacific, Marriott International. “The Fairfield brand believes in the beauty of simplicity, and we look forward to offering travelers to Bintulu the same seamless service and welcoming hospitality that the international brand is known for.”
The hotel features 230 guestrooms including two Presidential Suites that are designed to be smart and flexible in its layout, yet simple and beautiful through its inviting palette and soft furnishings. Each room is equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, large flat screen TV and a spacious area with an abundance of natural light that’s conducive to working and relaxing. Kava, the hotel’s all-day-dining restaurant serves up complimentary hot buffet breakfast that features a range of International dishes alongside local Malaysian favorites, with a strong emphasis on Sarawakian cuisine.
Kava also offers a grab and go counter, where wholesome bites are available 24/7 for around theclock convenience. Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon also caters to various events with a 273 sqm ballroom that can accommodate up to 350 guests in theatre-style seating alongside six meeting rooms, all fitted with state-of-art equipment and audio-visual services.
Additional hotel amenities include a Lobby Lounge where guests can savor an assortment of refreshments and light bites, a well-equipped 24 hours fitness centre that is available for guests to maintain their fitness routines during their travels, valet laundry service and complimentary Wi-Fi, amongst others.
“I am delighted to welcome guests to the new Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon,” said Derrick Felix, General Manager, Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon. “There is a lot of excitement as we launch the brand in Malaysia, and we are committed to delivering an inviting and effortless experience at an affordable price so travelers can make the most of their stay without ever having to skip a beat,” continues Derrick. “As a main destination for oil and gas and other major industrial businesses, we look forward to welcoming both domestic and international guests to experience our warm hospitality and uplifting spaces.”
Located in the heart of the city, the Fairfield by Marriott Bintulu Paragon is just 19 kilometres away from the Bintulu Airport and a few minutes away from the Paragon Street Mall – a one stop centre for guests to indulge in retail therapy of famous brands and products -, Bintulu Old Town, Bintulu Waterfront and Tanjung Batu Beach. For guests looking to have a bit more of an immersive local experience, the hotel is also located close to a night market where one can experience the sights and sounds, just as the locals do
