As a growing organisation in the hospitality industry, One World Hotel Petaling Jaya strives to enhance the company’s commitment to contribute back to the community. The hotel once again joined hands with the National Blood Centre of Malaysia for its annual blood donation drive recently.
Coordinated and spearheaded by Andy Yap, Director of Human Resources and his team; the event was held in the hotel’s Sunflower & Lavender function room from 11.00 am to 4.00 pm. 54 donors stepped forward and a total of 42 bags of blood were collected.
Dr. Ahmed Yusuf Assiddiqe Bin Tajudin and his team of dedicated medical personnel arrived at the hotel an hour prior to the event, to set up the equipment and machines. Basic health and blood screening were done before staffs were certified as fit to be donors.
“The management would like to thank all employees who participated in this campaign. They have contributed to the success of this initiative,” said Yap. He also added that the hotel is proud to play a small but vital role in helping to save some lives.
