Anchor Food Professionals Malaysia-Brunei set to boost small businesses as part of its 133-year celebrations

November 4, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Anchor Food Professionals Malaysia-Brunei (Anchor Food Professionals), the foodservice arm of Fonterra, has strengthened its commitment to supporting the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia through two new initiatives – the launch of its #anchorlegendairy contest and the launch of its partnership with CARING MOMS Malaysia.

The Department of Statistics Malaysia reports that SMEs contributed over 38 per cent of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) last year and this is expected to grow. Anchor Food Professionals’ new initiatives will help ensure the continued growth of SMEs by providing opportunity for at-home bakers to create sustainable businesses and by raising the profile and driving consumption of high-quality dairy products in Malaysia.

Mr Jack Tan, Associate Director, Foodservice, Fonterra Brands Malaysia said that working with SMEs is a natural fit for Anchor Food Professionals: “SMEs account for more than 98.5 per cent of businesses in Malaysia, making them the backbone of our economy. These businesses include the owners and operators of more than six thousand restaurants, bakeries and cafes which use our Anchor Dairy products.

“We are passionate about providing high-quality, world-class dairy products from New Zealand to the world’s restaurants and cafes.  We have a proven track record of lending support to Malaysian SMEs, providing local businesses with insights into market trends, as well as technical support to improve productivity, reduce food waste, assist with new menu development and new recipe ideas.

“We also provide workshops and cooking demonstrations, as well as annual baking workshops for highly skilled pastry chefs. Combined, this support has seen the growth of premium restaurants and improved operations and workforce productivity among business partners.

“Our new partnership with CARING MOMS Malaysia and our #anchorlegendairy contest not only mark the 133-year anniversary of Anchor Food Professionals, but serve as the latest way we will support SME growth in Malaysia.”

Anchor Food Professionals’ foodservice products Anchor, Mainland and Perfect Italiano are used extensively in restaurants, cafes and bakeries across Malaysia.

Participating restaurants and Anchor Dairy brand users and enthusiasts can view Anchor Food Professional’s Facebook (www.facebook.AnchorFoodProfessionalsMY) and Instagram (anchorfp.my) pages for the contest details. More information on the contest is also available on www.anchorlegendairy.com.
