The Sanya EDITION is the perfect Golden Week destination

September 25, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

There is no better time to visit China than during a National Holiday when the country comes to life in celebration. Golden Week takes place in China 1st – 7th October and The Sanya EDITION offers the ultimate unique get-away to experience the country in a time of festivity.  Located on China’s super-luxe Hainan Island, the hotel offers a luxurious holiday destination featuring a 20,000sqm private ocean, world-class spa and expansive selection of restaurants.

As part of The Sanya EDITION’s Golden Week celebrations, the hotel will welcome guest chef Matthew David Ona, of the famed Roof 365 Restaurant and Bar Shanghai, to take over The Jade Egret restaurant on site. Located atop the Shanghai History Museum overlooking People’s Square, ROOF 325 has firmly established its reputation as one of the city’s leading restaurants. From 1st – 3rd  October, Chef Matthew has created a specialty steak and seafood tasting menu at The Sanya EDITION in celebration of Golden Week.

Chef Matthew will bring some of his best-loved signature beef and seafood dishes to The Sanya EDITION’s The Jade Egret restaurant this October. The steak tasting menu will feature dishes such as bone marrow beef tartare, Australian wagyu beef and slow braised beef brisket ragu pasta. For those in favor of seafood, Chef Matthew has created an alternative tasting menu featuring dishes such as Pacific salmon tartare, Spicy seafood stew and Pan seared black cod filet.

The Sanya EDITION is the brainchild of hospitality visionnaire Ian Schrager and Marriott International as part of EDITION Hotels. The hotel is marked by the lush tropical greenery and spectacular private ocean; all rooms and suites feature breath-taking views of the South China Sea. The hotel’s modern interiors are inspired by the culture of the Li people from Hainan, defining five restaurants and bars, 4,000 square-metre multi-generational entertainment space PLAYLAND, The Spa at The Sanya EDITION and rooftop pool.

Celebrate Golden Week at The Sanya EDITION

From 29th September – 6th October The Sanya EDITION has introduced a special Golden Week room offer for those visiting China over the national holiday.
