Garden Lounge at The Murray, Hong Kong Presents a Strawberry Fiesta

August 17, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

From now until 30 September, Garden Lounge of The Murray, Hong Kong presents a Strawberry Fiesta Afternoon Tea. Available for two months only, a delectable selection of strawberry treats will be served on the restaurant’s elegant golden tea stand resembling the hotel’s iconic arches.
Fruity and refreshing with a distinct sweet aroma, strawberries are appetising on their own and versatile when paired with different ingredients, sweet or savoury. Pastry Chef Tom Wan led his talented team to create this special themed afternoon tea. “The bright ruby red colour, natural mild sweetness and a hint of tanginess allow boundless imaginations and creativity when designing the menu.”
A feast for the taste buds as well as the eyes, the Green Tea Strawberry Cake features a soft and moist green tea sponge cake enclosing a generous layer of strawberry cream and fresh strawberry dices. Not to be missed is Chef Tom’s personal favourite – the airy and cottony White Peach and Strawberry Mousse Cake with a delightful light pink colour to melt any heart.
While strawberries are amongst the most popular dessert ingredients, Chef Tom adds a clever boost to the savoury items with the pleasant and refreshing taste of this much-loved fruit. The light tanginess of strawberry chutney mellows the richness of Foie Gras and Pecan Nut Terrine and adds an uplifting new layer to its flavour profile. A perfect complement to the mild sweetness of seafood, strawberry dices are wrapped in the Murray Lobster Roll to highlight the freshness of tarragon lobster salad. Flavourful and appetising, Strawberry Gazpacho is the tasty treat to beat the summer heat. For the full menu, please refer to appendix.
