SUNWAY RESORT HOTEL & SPA PRESENTS AN EXCLUSIVE WINEMAKER DINNER FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY

July 11, 2019 by StrawberrY Gal

Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa’s chefs team up with Katnook Estate to create the spectacular Winemaker’s 6-course Dinner on Friday, 2 August 2019, 6.30pm at Arena 4, Level 15. This exclusive event will be enhanced with premium wines from Katnook Estate, Australia specifically paired to the culinary creations.

“This is a superb portfolio of wine with diverse tastes and finishes,” says Peter Prem Padman, Food & Beverage Director of Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa. “The menu heightens the flavour and finish subtleties of each wine with its luxurious note and I believe that each of our Chef’s found the right ingredients and ideal taste that perfectly complements the wine list today.”

The evening begins with Katnook Founders Block Sauvignon Blanc 2017, styled for everyday enjoyment with a light hors d’oeuvres reception at 6:30 p.m. at Arena 4, Level 15 overlooking the spectacular Sunway Lagoon theme park. An intimate six-course dinner in the same location follows with Katnook representative, Alison Harvey, who will be providing clarification and tasting comments for each featured wine.

The paired menu will commence with the first course which includes a Thai Infused Chicken Ballotine and Young Papaya Salad paired with Katnook Founders Block Sauvignon Blanc 2017 followed by the second course, Japanese inspired Unagi-Sushi Coquette with Cod Roe Dip. The third course follows an appealing Italian Accent that includes Riso Pasta, King Prawn and Parsnip paired with Katnook Estate Chardonnay 2016, an attractive Chardonnay with aromas of peach and nectarine, along with zesty grapefruit. A palate cleanser of Passion Fruit Sorbet and Mango Gelee with Basil Seeds will be served before the fourth course that brings diners the British Way, with Beef Wellington and Truffle Mustard paired with Katnook Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2016, a best seller with gentle tannins and rich, minty fruit flavours. A dash of pizazz comes in the fifth course with the Middle Eastern dish, Arabic Spice Marinated Lamb Cutlet and Briyani Rice paired with Katnook Prodigy Shiraz 2009, a rich and fruitier wine with amazing texture, filled with vanilla notes and fresh eucalyptus finish. Fig Tart, Lemon Curd and Pistachio Tuile will perfectly round up the evening as the last course.

The winemaker dinner is priced at MYR298 nett per adult and includes a welcome reception, a feast of six-courses, consummation of four different wine labels from Katnook Estate, followed by coffee and chocolate desserts at The Lobby Lounge while being serenaded by the in-house live band along with conversation with the guest winemaker. Seats are limited and reservation must be made in advance to avoid any disappointment.

This dinner launches the first in what will become a quarterly series at Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa featuring wine and whisky makers showcasing their best in conjunction with fine dining to help expand the palates of our guests from far and wide plus learning more about pairing of excellent wine and whiskey with different cuisines. Be a part of an intimate evening you will never forget. For reservations, please call Tel: +60 3 7495 2009/7492 8000 or email to [email protected] to secure your seats.
