The Shanghai Edition And Perrier-Jouët Co-Launch Shanghai Tavern X Perrier-Jouët Blanc De Blancs Spring Continental Brunch

March 15, 2019 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Promotion Leave a Comment

As the weather warms up, so do opportunities to mingle and dine out. The Shanghai EDITION and the world renowned Champagne brand Perrier-Jouët co-launch Shanghai Tavern x Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs brunch in the hotel’s all-day dining restaurant Shanghai Tavern.

Shanghai Tavern’s Brunch combines seasonal ingredients to create a variety of dishes. A delectable selection of delicacies, including the restaurant’s signature traditional pork pie served with English piccalilli, pickled vegetables and mustard, ultimate comfort food Tavern Mac and Cheese, rye waffles with chicken, Foie gras, Port jelly with cornichons, toasted bagel with smoked salmon, scrambled eggs with buttered leeks, and eggs benedict and Croque monsieur with fried eggs. All dishes pair exceptionally well with the refreshing notes of Perrier-Jouët Blanc de Blancs. Served within the restaurant’s contemporary and elegant surrounds, the brunch offers an ideal late morning or early afternoon dining experience for families and loved ones.

The champagne selection was handpicked by Hervé Deschamps, the chief winemaker for Perrier-Jouët. The Champagne served at brunch is 100% Premium Chardonnay and has been crafted with an enchanting blend of fruity and floral notes, which paired with the selection of food will create the ultimate Shanghai Tavern brunch.

Shanghai Tavern is an all-day dining, brasserie style restaurant presented by Michelin-starred Chef Jason Atherton and the Executive Chef Scott Melvin of The Shanghai EDITION. Drawing on Elliot Hazzard’s period architecture and magnificent coffered ceiling, the design seeks to reference the layers of history behind the Shanghai Power Company Building; a communal space that has been interior designed for pocketed intimacy. A meter-high delineation point marks the original architecture, and its transition into the newly built structure, with a grid of white marble clad columns and beams. Occupying each grid space in between are the 4.6m (15’) high coffered ceilings which mark the existing historic art deco building. Below, wide banquettes and bar counters serves as elegant, multi-purpose dining, drinking, and gathering spots. A show kitchen made of brass and striped glass including a 9-seater dining bar counter in the center of the floor plan serves as the centerpiece of Shanghai Tavern, with a 165 total capacity: 135 main seats and 30 lounge seats.
