Wondermama @ 1 Utama brings you with NEW Flavours

January 8, 2019 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Wondermama is a vibrant, contemporary and creative Malaysian restaurant that brings a sophisticated twist to the traditional local flavors and casual dining.

And recently Wondermama had revamped their menu bringing you with the NEW look and NEW flavours.

And this round, we started off with their signature Wonder Pop Chicken where the crispily fried chicken bites are served together with the popcorns with the flavours around the world.  Choose them from four flavours which are the Totally Tom Yum from Thailand, Say Cheese from France, Barbecue Bugaboo from USA and Ba-Ba-Ba Ba-Ba-Na-Na from Malaysia, all priced at RM16.90 each.

The Totally Tom Yum  (RM 16.90)
The Totally Tom Yum is one of our favourites where the chicken is perfectly deep fried till crispy and topped with the aromatic hint of light spiciness. It is simply fragrant as well. Thanks to the dried chillies, lemongrass and the kaffir lime leaf that added the umph .. in the lime popcorn.

Barbecue Bugaboo (RM 16.90)
For those who love a twist of barbecue, you can have the Barbecue Bugaboo (RM 16.90). Enjoy the Fried Chicken bites which are perfectly drizzled with the smokey, tangy and sweet house BBQ Mao topped with the Cinnamon popcorns.

HK Murtabak (RM 15.90)
The HK Murtabak captures our attention where Mama brings you with her version of murtabak. Instead of the boring roti canai wrap, Wondermama uses the chee cheong fun skin to wrap the ingredients. Enjoy the filling that is perfectly done with the minced chicken, chopped onions, egg and cheese. It is then wrapped with the silky soft chee cheong fun skin and  then pan-fried. This is a good one where it is not too heavy !

Soft Shell Crab Rice Paper Roll (RM 21.90)
Inspired by the Japanese Soft Shell Crab Rill and the local popiah, Wondermama has their version where the crispy soft shell crab is rolled with the rice paper, along with the coriander, mint leaves, carrot and spring onions. Enjoy them with their homemade signature Peanut sauce. The taste comes simply light but I love the combination where it is refreshing.

Wonder Nasi Ayam Berempah (RM27.90)
Whenever you visit Wondermama, the Wonder Nasi Ayam Berempah is not to be missed. This is one of the best sellers and signature here. The Wondermama Nasi Berempah comes addictively good where one can enjoy the wholesome meal which is packed with the nasi briyani, juicy crispy fried chicken, sambal prawn, kerabu kacang botol, homemade sambal merah dan hijau, salted egg, laksa soup and the pappadam.  It is such a filling dish and worth for the price.

The Aglio Olio fares a good mark too where the pasta comes simply al-dente. It is perfectly tossed with the squid, spinach, garlic, chili flakes and topped with the crispy Wonderchicken.

Lemon Mint Lychee –  Thirst Quenching cooler consisting of lemon, lime and mint leaves topped with lychee and basil seeds
Mango Fiasco – Fresh Blended Mangoes with Milk topped with the Mango cubes, Whipped Cream, Basil Seeds, Mint Leaf
Kiwi to my Heart : Kiwi, Raspberry, Blueberry, Mint Leaf, Lime, Soda
Ends your meal with the refreshing Lemon Mint Lychee (RM13.90) , Mango Fiasco (RM 13.90) or Kiwi to my Heart (RM12.90).

Overall, Wondermama brings you with great dining experience and great food too. Our Personal Recommendations includes:
✅Wonder Nasi Ayam Berempah (RM27.90)
✅HK Murtabak (RM 15.90)
✅The Totally Tom Yum  (RM 16.90)
