CITTA Mall Goes International With Annual Countdown Party

December 24, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Judging from how
2018 has whooshed by, Christmas will soon be upon us and following that, New
Year’s Eve. So it’s no surprise that people are already making dinner
reservations and looking up on venues to celebrate with their loved ones, but
the place to be when the clock strikes twelve on 31st December would
be CITTA Mall.
Set to celebrate
its third New Year’s Eve Party, CITTA Mall entices with a star-studded line-up
including dance extraordinaire Rejuvenate Dance Crew, pop idol Rax Teh,
progressive-ethno-fusion band Nadir, witty host Baki Zainal, chanteuse
Kilafairy, and K-Pop boyband MASC. The festivities will kick off at
8:30 pm on Monday evening.
“It’s a little
tricky doing this on the first day of the workweek,” says Alan Thoo, Group
Marketing Head. “But what better way to stave away the Monday blues than to
celebrate a great year to good music and fireworks?”
“There’s always
something different to look forward to at the party every year. We’ve had big
names like Dina Nadzir and Adibah Noor headlining the party in the past. For
#CITTAMall2019, we have Kilafairy and for the first time ever, international
presence by K-Pop group MASC.”
The number of
visitors to CITTA Mall New Year’s Eve Party has increased steadily over the
past two years, and the management team anticipates this to continue for its
third run. To accommodate the surge of visitors, restaurants at the mall have
extended their opening hours till late to feed the hungry masses, and those
wishing to avoid parking woes can opt to travel using the ride-hailing app,
MULA.
“We’ve recently
collaborated with MULA to offer our shoppers more transportation options,”
notes Allison Chan, Senior Executive for Advertising & Promotions. “We’d
recommend visitors to download the app and to make use of the existing
promotion we have with MULA to visit the mall on New Year’s Eve.”
All visitors have
to do is download the MULA2U app via Google Play or App Store and use MULA’s
promo code “MULA2CM” to get RM5 off 2 rides (per user per month; valid until 31
December 2018). The offer is only for rides to and from CITTA Mall and is
applicable for the “BOOK NOW” and “PRE-BOOK” services.
As per tradition,
fireworks will light up the sky at midnight, which is always an immense treat
to the cheering crowd below. A great alternative to the fireworks displays
elsewhere in Kuala Lumpur, CITTA Mall’s pyrotechnics have garnered a reputation
for being a visual extravagance that can be enjoyed up close.
“No one wants to
get stuck in traffic just to see fireworks, and by virtue of being an open-air
mall, we’re able to afford our shoppers an uninhibited view of the fireworks
directly above their heads,” comments Chan.
“The New Year’s Eve
Party has always been our biggest event of the year, and it’s always the best
time to reflect and celebrate the milestones we’ve achieved with the
communities who have supported us. In a way, you could say this is our way of
giving back to the people; by throwing them a party they’ll never forget.”
Coincidentally,
CITTA Mall will be working closely with the LEO Clubs of SMK Bandar Utama
Damansara 3, SMK Subang Utama, Sri Kuala Lumpur, SMK Seafield, SMK La Salle
Klang, SMK Assunta, and SMK Seksyen 4 Bandar Kinrara on 14th
December to spread some Christmas cheer for the children of Waja Home, a refuge
for underprivileged children. The CSR project, titled “Xmas Spotlight on
Children”, sees 30 children aged between 4 and 18 spending a fun-filled day at
CITTA Mall, which includes a free movie at MBO Cinemas, Christmas craft
workshops, and games.
“This is our second
year doing this, and we’re very grateful that CITTA Mall has agreed to jump on
the project with us,” says Gregory Soo, Chairperson of the project from SMK
Bandar Utama Damansara 3. “Service has always been at the core of everything we
do, so it’s very reassuring to receive the backing of institutions like CITTA
Mall to give these kids a memorable Christmas.”
