Torikin @ J’s Gate Dining, Lot 10

June 19, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Torikin is one of the Japanese restaurant in J’s Gate Dining where they are famed for their yakitori and also the matcha tiramisu.

The restaurant comes simply cosy and the ambiance is perfect. I love the moments sitting there and looking how the chef prepared my food for me.

Chicken Karaage (RM16)
And this round, we sampled a few of Torikin’s signature that definitely make us to come back again. We started off with their delicious Chicken Karaage which was perfectly deep fried till golden brown. The chicken maintained its juiciness and yet the aromatic flavor and the crispiness was there. It was addictively delicious and tempting.

Soborodon Set (RM 18)
The bowl of hearty meal where this was completed with the generous portion of rice as well as chunks of chicken and pork meat with it. Topped with scallions and also an onsen egg on top. We broke the onsen egg and the runny egg yolk ran over to the rice and meat. With the combination of both, the bowl of Soborodon was addictively delicious and every mouthful was just so satisfying.

Tori Mabushi (RM 29)
Another signature of Torikin. The  Tori Mabushi was perfectly done where the set came with the bowl of rice topped with seaweed and the chunky bbq-ed chicken thigh on top. We loved how the dish was done where we were impressed with the chunky tender-licious meat. Well paired with the rice.

Don’t miss out their yakitori. Their yakitori was above our expectation. Each of them was perfectly barbecued and comes with the light char taste and light saltiness. And in here they have 3 sets of Yakitori to be chosen, depends on your selection.  The set priced at RM 45++ with a glass of Suntory Whisky Highball. Else, you can order them ala-carte where the price from RM 5 onwards each skewer.

We ended our meals of course with their signature Matcha Tiramisu (RM 17). Served inside a bamboo box, the creamy tiramisu was topped with the matcha powder on top. Such a sweet ending after a great meal.
