International Borneo Fest 2018 All Here in Suria KLCC

This year, Suria KLCC brings you more excitement this time with the International Borneo Fest 2018 LIVE now in Kuala Lumpur And in here, you can witness the beautiful rich culture and heritage of Sabah and Sarawak. And this time is the second year Surai KLCC is collaborating with Sabah and Sarawak Heritage Association of Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to organize the international fest which will be held for two days, on 25th and 26th June 2018.

And this year, they collaborate and bringing the Fest to Kuala Lumpur and to have the first leg of the International Borneo Fest 2018 at Suria KLCC.  And in here, you can witness the richness of cultural heritage in Borneo comprising multiracial beliefs and habits which brings you the uniqueness of Sabah an Sarawak. And this time, the main objective of the International Borneo Fest is to promote “Beauty in Ethnic Diversity” within Borneo Island to the world.

And the final leg will be held in London on 2nd December 2018 and this will showcase the astounding heritage of Sabah and Sarawak that includes arts & craft, cultural, food, music and fashion. And the International Borneo Fest this round was officiated by Yang Berhormat Ms Teresa Kok. Also presented, Kumpulan KLCC Chairman, Datuk Haji Hashim Wadir, the Sabah & Sarawak Heritage Assocation of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor Chairman & Advisor, Dr. Laurence John, Marketing Director of Tourism Sarawak, Mr Benedict Jimbau and Suria KLCC General Manager Mr Ben Chong.

And this time, with the Borneo Fest taken place in KLCC, this is such an overwhelming ambience here where one can learn and know about Sabah and Sarawak and bringing them into the international market. And during their first series held in Suria KLCC last year, they had received a positive response from the local and tourist. With this, they are able to promote the culture, the Fest and the catalyst of growth for both Sabah & Sarawak.

And this year, 20 ethics will be participating in the Borneo Fest 2018 to showcase their culture and heritage. Among them includes Melanau, Iban, Bidayuh, Murut, Kadazan, Orang Ulu, Bajay and Rungus to name a few.

The main highlights of the whole event of the International Borneo Fest 2018 is the Miss and Mister Ambasador , to be held on the first day and the results will be announced on the second day. Asides, there will be ethnic dance  & drama tari competition will be held on 26th June 2018 and 13 team will compete in the competition. Among the ethnic dance to be performed include Uleg Nugan, Rejang Be’uh, Havan Joh or Long Dance, Kuda Pasu, Ngauk Ai, Bandung, Serahang, Entupat, Sumirid, Sazau Papar, Sigar Nyikoh Jojak and Sazau Papar.


Asides, there will be drama tari performance that revolves around legends and myth within the ethnic groups in Borneo. Among them are the Iban’s Bunsu Telanjing & Ngauk Ai, Bidayuh’s Rejang Be’uh, Sumirid, Sazau Papar and Sazau Papar Sabah.

Not just that, one can grab their own piece of designer products and enjoy the fashion show on the second day of the fest. And also there will be great performance that you can witness throughout the whole Fest.

Don’t miss out to purchased and witness some of the locally produced products from the various ethnics of Sabah And Sarawak such as the famous Kuih Lapis, Black Pepper and more. The Fest opens from 10.00 am till 10.00 pm.
