Hyatt Regency Tsim Sha Tsui – Cafe Challenges Your Fondness for Ice-cream

May 15, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

It is quite impossible to resist the temptation of ice-cream especially in summer. From June to August, Pastry Chef Gary Lau is proud to present three series of diverse ice cream creations, comprising 15 icy desserts served on a rotational basis; some of which are innovative flavours designed to challenge your fondness for ice-cream!

Be mesmerised by the first “Sweet Fantasy” series, a collection of ice-cream coupes, featuring the girly and pink cotton candy ice-cream coupe with marshmallow and jelly. The bittersweet matcha and houjicha ice-cream coupe with red bean dumpling serves as another alluring option for ladies.

Decorated with mini homemade doughnuts for a more adorable presentation, the caramel and banana ice-cream coupe with chocolate doughnut is perfect for food-photography enthusiasts. The next series, “Patisserie Affection”, satisfies dessert-lovers with various ice-creams sandwiched between handcrafted pastries. Inspired by the all-time favourite sweet breakfast item, the French toast with peanut butter ice-cream sandwich drizzled with maple syrup creates a perfectly harmonised taste.

Feast on the crunchy almond croissant with chocolate ice-cream and Kouign Amann with cinnamon mascarpone ice-cream sandwich to continue the tasting journey of France.

Last but not least is the “Playful Inspiration” series, highlighting the hoppy beer ice-cream with potato chip in which beer accounts for one third of the ingredients. Alternatively, Chef Gary strongly recommends the Black Hawaii ice-cream with Oreo and bacon chips where the macho black-coloured appearance comes from lightly salted vegetable carbon. Cheeseburger ice-cream with French fries is also a unique creation with rich chocolate ice-cream sandwiched between bread-like sponge cakes, bringing pleasure to both the eyes and the palate. Other unconventional options that could intensify your love for ice-cream are goat cheese and fig ice-cream with ham croissant and white chocolate and curry ice-cream with banana and walnut cake.

The above highlights will be served on a rotational basis during the dinner buffet. In addition, Cafe will serve up an impressive range of freshly made delicacies prepared at live cooking stations, including tantalising live lobster, enticing grilled seafood and tempting teppanyaki. Other offerings include sushi, sashimi and tempura from the Japanese kitchen; a fine selection of fresh pastas and pizzas from the Western kitchen; authentic curries and fresh naan breads from the Indian kitchen; as well as an array of Western antipasti, salads, cold cuts, seafood on ice and homemade desserts during the dinner buffet.
