Visa and CIT Transform Travel Booking and Launch New Travel App for Visa Cardholders

March 17, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Visa Malaysia and Corporate Information Travel (CIT) Sdn Bhd today announced the launch of Pick A Trip, a travel mobile app exclusively for Visa Malaysia cardholders that allows them to search, select and compare prices from hundreds of airlines and hotels worldwide.

Pick A Trip offers instant searching and booking of airfare and accommodation deals anytime, anywhere. Furthermore, the app is enabled with Visa Checkout, Visa’s secure payment solution for eCommerce purchases. The app also functions as an effective trip organiser with transparent fare breakdowns and easy-to-read itineraries, displaying transit points, arrival and departure times, checked baggage allowance, seat reservation and flight inclusions to aid travellers in their budgeting and planning.

“Visa is extremely excited to partner with CIT, a leading travel agent to launch this unique mobile platform that caters to the travelling needs of our cardholders. Based on VisaNet data, travel spend on eCommerce is growing faster than face-to-face and has increased 10 per cent year-on-year.  Booking of travel has also evolved from traditional methods of calling or emailing a travel agent. Our research has shown that Malaysians spend more than five hours a day on their mobile devices  and based on the Global Travel Intentions study conducted by Visa, 72 per cent of Malaysians use their mobile devices to look up information in planning their trips.  With Pick A Trip, Visa cardholders can easily book the amazing deals and travel packages that we have tailored for them anytime they want on their mobile devices, making the pre-planning part of travel extremely easy and convenient,”said KB Ng, Visa Country Manager for Malaysia.

Foo Sze Zhaun, Executive Director of CIT said, “The company is excited to present a mobile app that provides a comprehensive platform where travellers can easily browse and select travel deals of their choice. With Pick A Trip, travellers no longer need to download multiple apps from different airlines and manually compare the pricing and flight times. Pick A Trip focuses on transforming the booking experience for travellers and is further enhanced with Visa’s payment solution, Visa Checkout.”

Visa Checkout is an online payment solution that makes online, mobile and in-app payments easier for consumers to pay anytime, anywhere via a smartphone, PC, or tablet.  With this solution, consumers no longer need to re-enter their details such as shipping and billing addresses, credit card details, which reduces a significant amount of time required to checkout and pay.

Exclusive deals and offers are available on Pick A Trip for Visa cardholders. Malaysians can download Pick A Trip at Google Play or iTunes app store.
