Tourism Selangor (TSSB) together with support from Tourism Malaysia Osaka & Tokyo Office besides participation of Sky Mirror Kuala Selangor, Cyberview Resorts & Spa and Kuala Selangor Districts Council will connects businesses from the state of Selangor and Japan in a Seminar sessions will take place from 18 to 24 March 2018 at Osaka City Central Public Hall, Osaka, Japan continuously at Wink Aichi, Nagoya, Japan and last destination is in Asian Japan Centre, Tokyo, Japan.

This is the 1st roadshow seminar about Selangor in Japan and AirAsiaX will be the Official Partner for this entire Roadshow. The event provides local participants from the state country in Japan that come from various travel agencies, government agencies, hoteliers, health and wellness operators, and education sections to connect with travel industry associates through seminar and presentation from the respective delegates.

Tourism Selangor will organize B2B meeting with Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA), and Tabikobo Co. Ltd.  during the first trip of roadshow in Osaka, Japan. On the next roadshow visit in Japan’s fourth most populated city which is in Nagoya, Tourism Selangor will have official visits to Aichi Prefecture Tourism Bureau and B2B meeting with World Air Sea Services Co. Ltd and Meitetsu World Travel Inc. . At the last destination of this roadshow in Japan’s busy capital, besides seminar and product update, Tourism Selangor is having official visits to JATA Head Office, International Cross Cultural Committee and Japan Association of Overseas Studies.

For the Japanese market, Tourism Selangor would like to further leverage in these three segments, Eco-Tourism, Heritage and Education Tourism based on the travel patterns of the Japanese tourists.  The Japanese tourists in general enjoy adventure and experience-based holidays, as well as culture according to Tourism Selangor market study.  Thus, Tourism Selangor will also future collaborate with Japan Tourism Bureau in Osaka and Tokyo for Government to Government (G2G) meeting to further discuss and collaborate on future promotional campaigns.

Social Media Campaign will be launch exclusively for the Japanese market that will use Facebook as the main platform to promote Selangor.  In addition, the tourism industry focal points representative and Japan Education Board representative media will get a chance to register an interest for “Selangor Familiarisation Trip” that will be held soon in August 2018.

Selangor has many hidden places of attractions that are off the tourist trail and you will be equally surprised by how close these places are to the city.  Even the local Malaysians are surprised to find certain new places to visit that are still unknown to most.

Such as the Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor, it is a sand bank in the middle of the sea and it gives an optical illusion where the water meets the sky, hence looking like a mirror of the sky.  Many travel there to see this and take some very interesting photos.

It is quite a large botanical park that has many tropical plant lives that are typical to the region.  For those who enjoy outdoor activities, there are bicycles for rent and a high ropes course.  Another favourite attraction is Cyberview Hotel Resort & Spa, known for its beautiful landscaping.  It also has a well-known Meeting, Incentives, Conferencing, and Exhibitions (MICE) centre in Selangor that could offers to tourists.

“This roadshow are directly focused on Japan local agent & media. We are confident that Selangor’s Tourism Products would receive an encouraging response from the Japanese tourists as they always like anything new and different. Selangor’s tourism industry still has a lot of potential for development and can be explored even further, particularly with our counterparts over in Japan” said Madam Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din, General Manager of Tourism Selangor.

Selangor has received a total of 212,000 Japanese tourists in 2017 with the highest arrivals in August at 28,000.  There has been a steady increase in the number of international arrivals into Selangor and this year we hope to achieve a further increase in numbers that converts to a total income worth RM5.49billion.  To achieve this, Tourism Selangor have several programmes planned with a brand new campaign called ‘#takemeanywhere’ that will promote the main areas of tourism focus in Selangor.

Today, Selangor continues to be a charming state bustling with vibrant people, always welcomes an exchange of warm gestures with its booming tourism industry as more visitors are attracted to the rustic charm of old colonial buildings which are now preserved and repurposed to fit modern lifestyle. Besides that, The accompanying ‘Take Me Anywhere’ is used as a slogan to strengthen the current promotional campaign, specifically indicating Selangor state as a hub for transportation, development, investment, business, education, medicine and others – where it all begins and centered in the Selangor state.
