Orchard Hotel Singapore’s signature Cantonese restaurant, Hua Ting, has once again been named ‘Singapore’s Top Restaurants’ with a one-star rating, marking the restaurant’s thirteenth consecutive win. Adding to the accolade is artisanal bistro Mon Bijou’s ‘Best Café’ award while General Manager Tina Sim is ‘Highly Commended Mentor’ of the year.
Commenting on Hua Ting Restaurant’s win, Tina says: “To be conferred this accolade year after year is an honour which underscores our commitment to delivering authentic, fine Cantonese-style dining alongside consistent service excellence – and this would not have been possible without the tireless dedication of the entire culinary and service team.”
Established in 1992, Hua Ting Restaurant recently embarked on a much-anticipated refurbishment that will culminate in brand-new interiors and herald new heights in gastronomic excellence. “This development represents a momentous evolution to strengthen Hua Ting Restaurant’s stellar repute as the destination for best-in-class traditional Cantonese cuisine. Come 7 December 2017, we can all look forward to an even more distinctive dining experience with modernised aesthetics and intriguing culinary presentations, while retaining the best of Masterchef Lap Fai’s signatures and creative classics,” adds Tina.
Mon Bijou made its mark by clinching the ‘Best Café’ recognition at the Epicurean Star Award 2017 organised by Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS). The bistro which prides itself on artisanal fare with a touch of French flair outshined five contenders in the same category and is one of the 21 dining establishments awarded at this year’s gala dinner. Nominated restaurants are judged by a panel who dined anonymously over a one-month judging period on food quality, service standards, ambience and overall experience. The RAS Epicurean Star Award celebrates the milestone achievements of talented chefs, restaurateurs and service staff who have introduced innovative ideas and concepts, and inspired others towards achieving excellence in Singapore’s competitive Food & Beverage landscape.
Meanwhile, Orchard Hotel’s General Manager Tina Sim, earned the inaugural “Highly Commended Mentor” award by ACI HR Solutions.
