Feel the Force at Marina Bay Sands this festive season

November 21, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Marina Bay Sands and Disney will be ringing in the festive season in full force with a spectacular Star Wars: The Last Jedi themed light and water show at the Event Plaza on 25 November from 8:00 pm. The event is free and open to members of the public.

A first of its kind, Marina Bay Sands Festive Light-Up – Star Wars: The Last Jedi Edition will see the integrated resort adapting its nightly multimedia light and water show, Spectra, to kick start the year-end celebrations.

Star Wars fans will be in for a treat as actress Kelly Marie Tran, who plays the part of Rose Tico, a member of the resistance in the upcoming Star Wars: The Last Jedi film, will be making a special appearance at the red carpet event. Kelly will join Marina Bay Sands President and Chief Executive Officer George Tanasijevich in illuminating the integrated resort and launching the never-seen-before performance.

All spectators are set to be awed by the show. It will be a state-of-the-art performance combining lasers, lights and water movements with visuals from the upcoming Star Wars film, set to original music from the film franchise. The event starts from 8pm, with the show to come on at 8.30pm, after the performance of Spectra at the Event Plaza. As a large turn-out is expected, members of the public attending the event may be subject to security checks within the area.
For audiences who are unable to make their way down for the show’s debut, there will be a second opportunity to catch it on 15 December at 8.30pm, following the opening of the movie in Singapore on 14 December, without talent.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi opens in cinemas on 14 December.
