TONY ROMA’S RIBS-EATING CONTEST IS BACK!

October 8, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Attention to all ribs lovers! Tony Roma’s highly anticipated ribs-eating competition is back with exciting news. This year, Tony Roma’s Ribs-Eating Competition’s participants will attempt a first-ever record in the Malaysia Book of Records.
Ten male and ten female finalists will be selected to compete in the contest scheduled at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya on 26 November 2017. While the ladies get a maximum of ten minutes to finish five beef ribs, the men will have to finish ten beef ribs within 15 minutes.

The finalist who finishes all the ribs in the fastest time will be declared the winner of the Tony Roma’s Ribs Eating Contest 2017 and will be acknowledged in the Malaysia Book of Records as the fastest person in Malaysia to finish Tony Roma’s beef ribs in the Men’s and Ladies’ categories respectively. The winners will also walk away with great prizes, including free meals at Tony Roma’s for an entire year!

Guests who love sinking their teeth into racks of Tony Roma’s world-famous beef ribs can sign up from 2 October to 19 November 2017 at any of Tony Roma’s 12 outlets in Peninsular Malaysia when they purchase the Tony Roma’s Ribs Entrée.

“When it comes to satisfying that craving for ribs, nothing beats Tony Roma’s lip-smacking succulent signature beef ribs glazed with our Original BBQ sauce,” said George Ang, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grand Companions Sdn. Bhd, the franchise holder of Tony Roma’s Malaysia.
“As we celebrate Tony Roma’s 45th anniversary, there’s no better way to show our appreciation towards our loyal customers than through the competition and giving them the chance of being acknowledged in the Malaysia Book of Records,” said George Ang.

In Tony Roma’s Rib-Eating Contest 2015, Meor Ezammer was crowned champion in the men’s category for finishing ten beef ribs in 8 minutes and 49 seconds while Nurul Nadiah Che Mat grabbed the female title by finishing three beef ribs in 2 minutes and 29 seconds.
