August 2, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

It’s a yearly celebration for all Malaysians – National Day on August 31 marks the country’s independence. Celebrate this meaningful occasion with sumptuous buffet high-tea at Melting Pot Café.

The enticing buffet spread offers a mix of local and western dishes. Kick off your gastronomic journey with smoked duck and mango salad, rojak buah, tauhu sumbat or poached tiger prawn on ice as starters. Prepare your own sandwiches with choice of fillings like spicy mayo tuna, turkey ham, roast beef, grilled chicken breast and top up your sandwich creation with cheddar cheese slice. Have a bowl of hot piping cream of mushroom or chicken and dried scallop porridge with condiments or mah lai kuih (Malaysian steamed cake) and putu mayam from the hot steamer section. Other light delicacies include roti jala sekaya, waffle and pancake and satay.

Continue with the main dishes. Amongst recommended are Johor laksa, mee rebus, nasi goreng ayam kunyit and kacang panjang, chicken empanadas, wok-fried tiger prawn, lamb tandoori, deep-fried chicken, spinach and mushroom pie and other tempting dishes.
