NKF is delighted to announce annual mooncakes charity project

August 7, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

This year National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia celebrates the upcoming mid-Autumn Festival with the range of new assorted mooncakes for friends, families and business acquaintances to indulge in. Monies raised from this initiative will go on to benefit the 1,600 underprivileged kidney patients.

Partnering with Oversea, the mooncakes are presented in custom designed gift box which are in red and white packaging that represent the oriental colour, purity and goodness that draw inspiration from the origins of the Mid-Autumn Festival. The mooncakes are halal certified and come in two available sizes:

• Type A box includes a 1kg set of Pure Lotus Paste, Lotus Paste 1 Yolk, Golden Emerald 1 Yolk and Red Bean Paste at a donation of RM 68 per box.

• Type B box includes a 1.35kg set of White Lotus 1 Yolk, Lotus Paste 2 Yolks, Golden Starlight 1 Yolk, Assorted Fruits & Nuts, Green Tea with Red Bean and Shanghai 1 Yolk at a donation of RM 88 per box.

The proceeds from the mooncakes sales will be funneled towards the treatment and support of underprivileged dialysis patients, as well as funding NKF’s constants efforts to educate the public about kidney disease.

Members of the public can also sponsor mooncakes for NKF and their families to extend their celebrations to those in need.

Mr. Chua Hong Wee, Chief Executive Officer of NKF, said, “We always emphasize in helping the community. Every year, we are very grateful for the generosity of the public and we believe the public will open their hearts to express their feelings in participating in this charitable cause.”

He added, “The funds go a long way in enabling us to continue providing treatment for over 1,600 dialysis patients under our care. We believe that happiness can be found in the most unnoticed aspects of our lives and something as humble as mooncakes can illustrate our care and bring warmth to people around us. We hope to contribute to extending happiness and a caring attitude throughout our communities.”

Those wishing to do their part for charity and purchase NKF mooncakes can either access the booking form from the NKF website at http://www.nkf.org.my. Payment can be made via credit card, cheque or postal order, as well as cash via deposit or online-banking transfer. Proof of payment is to be attached to completed order forms and returned via fax or email. For more information or any queries, please contact NKF by emailing [email protected] or calling 03-7954 9048 ext. 208/218.

Donors will be informed when the mooncakes are available for collection at the NKF Secretariat office in Section 14, Petaling Jaya. Deliveries to home or to offices can also be requested, with charges applicable.
