“Eiichiro Oda presents Hello, ONE PIECE Luffy is here!”

“ONE PIECE,” one of Japan’s most popular Manga, will be exhibited titled “Eiichiro Oda presents Hello, ONE PIECE Luffy is here!” from Saturday, 26 August to Wednesday, 18 October 2017 at ISETAN The Japan Store Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
“ONE PIECE” is a Manga which started serializing in “Weekly Shonenjump” magazine in 1997 and gained unprecedented popularity. Ever since it started, ONE PIECE has also been loved in Asia, Europe, the USA, and other various countries around the world. As a new adventure, commemorating the 20th anniversary of the series, Malaysia was chosen as the first location of a new exhibition since it is a very lively and vibrant country and has a large number of young people who are receptive towards Manga trends.
This exhibition can be enjoyed not only by the ONE PIECE fans, but also by people from all walks of life who do not know about ONE PIECE. The exhibition shows the evolving artistic aspects of the author, Eiichiro Oda. Visitors can also experience the new stage of ONE PIECE, which will continue on its journey even after its 20th anniversary year.
Since 1997, ONE PIECE has been continually serialized in Japan’s best-selling Manga magazine, “Weekly Shonenjump”, and will be celebrating its 20th anniversary this year as one of Japan’s most iconic Manga. As of today, the 86 total volumes have sold more than 350 million copies in Japan alone.
The exhibition introduces many various colour illustrations, a replica of Eiichiro Oda’s desk at his workplace, and also has a virtual reality zone with content specially curated for this exhibition shown for the first time in the world. Visitors can experience new sensations with the ONE PIECE characters in virtual space. The exhibition space of 300㎡ allows visitors to fully appreciate the world of ONE PIECE.

What is “ONE PIECE”?
ONE PIECE is a high seas adventure Manga written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda. It is a story about Luffy, who gains the special ability to stretch his body like rubber after eating the Gum-Gum Devil Fruit. Luffy forms the Straw Hat Pirates with his friends and embarks on an adventure to become the Pirate King by finding the mysterious treasure known as “ONE PIECE”. Its popularity has expanded beyond the shores of Japan as ONE PIECE is well known in more than 42 countries and regions worldwide!
