The Prep Room @ Jalan Sri Hartamas: Every food have a story here!

July 17, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

A nice café located in the neighbourhood of Desa Sri Hartamas . Opening back in a year plus, the owner – Kuan Ling had put loads of efforts and hearts to the menu.

Celebrating the little milestones, Kuan Ling had created some of their new menu which are reminiscences her childhood and working aboard experience. Putting in all together, you will be assured of getting the best of what you will be tasting.

Thai Larb Kai (RM 10)
A little of Thai influence in it, Thai style chicken comes with the lemongrass hint in their food. We are simply indulge with the humble dish created here are simply unique and with the exquisite taste in it.

Coconut Candy Shrimps (RM15)

This is addictive. The tiny shrimps is bringing you with the crunchy bites and also topped with the desiccated coconut on top!  Not just that, have them dipped in their addictive spicy dip too.  It is sinfully good and addictive where we can finish this snack in minutes and having to order more.

Budeshu  (RM 19.50)

One of the Malaysian favorites- the blue pea flower rice where they had made them in Japanese rice. Sides with their signature tender and juicy fried chicken and tomato cream with it. The taste comes simply flavourful and awesome!

The Spaghetti (RM 18.50)

An inspiration from Kuan Ling and her love one staying in Bangkok, they finally come up with their version of the Thai Drunken Spaghetti. The Spaghetti here are simply cooked al-dente with the generous portion of seafood and basil with it. The taste is complete with the burst of spiciness where they are topped with the chili flakes and also chilly in it. This is just awesome and is one of my favourites here!

All Day Brekkie (RM 22.50)
Bringing back my childhood memories where this is the kind of food we usually had when we are a kid. The comfort food prepared by the Chef with the scrambled egg with “cha  omm” and sides with the Penang Style Loh bak (chicken and beef) , baked beans and stuffed bell peppers. It is indeed one of the childhood memories we had savour during our schooling days in Penang. The dish reminds me of some authentic delights that we can get in the lovely city.

Rajdamri Pasta (RM  19.50)
The linguine that comes with Australian beef and seafood, cooked with the combination of limau purut in it. TAdded with buah pala and serai. Uniquely Malaysian dish I could say!

And of course, never leave here without trying their desserts. Enjoy the 2 signature dishes that is being made from scratch and love here.

Nut-cholic (RM 17)

Enjoy the peanut butter which is made from scratch from the kitchen  and the lovely cake is layered with the hint of rum and cream. Nice one and addictively good.

Yeasted Waffle(Rm 15)
Waffle lover would love this. The beautifully presented waffle and made fresh here brings you a savoury taste of the batter. It is then sides with fresh fruits with the scoop of vanilla ice cream with it.
And don’t miss out their brewed coffee here such as the cappuccino, mocha, toffee, and also caramel.
