It’s not every day that one gets feted to a scrumptious feast from Tony Roma’s in the comfort of your home, with the chef being none other than Bob Gallagher, Senior Vice President of Culinary at Romacorp Inc, the parent company of Tony Roma’s.
That’s exactly what happened recently at the home of Puan Mazlina Ibrahim in Sungai Buloh who was the lucky winner of Tony Roma’s Cooks Lunch for Mom & Family@Home contest. Early in the morning, the Tony Roma’s team led by Chef Bob Gallagher descended on Puan Mazlina’s home bringing with them all the necessary ingredients to cook and serve up a scrumptious lunch of Tony Roma’s signature food such as Beef Ribs and Lamb Ribs.
Also present was Alexis Kobernyk, Regional Vice President of Franchise Operations, who took on the role of server for the day and ensured Puan Mazlina and her family were treated to a dining experience like no other.
Held in conjunction with Mother’s Day, the contest featured a ‘home-cooked’ lunch worth RM1,500 for a family of eight. Participants just had to dine in at any Tony Roma’s outlet and snap a photograph with their mother and family in the most creative pose using the Tony Roma’s Mother’s Day props.
Said George Ang, Chief Executive Officer of Grand Companions Sdn Bhd, the parent company of Tony Roma’s Malaysia, “Mother’s Day is a celebration of the bond of love and affection between a mother and her family and it also celebrates the spirit of motherhood. A mother is the cornerstone of a family’s foundation and the ‘glue’ that holds the whole family together. So what better way to show our appreciation to Puan Mazlina than by taking over her kitchen for the day and cooking up a delicious feast!”
Mother’s Day is a special day for a very special woman. Celebrated on the second Sunday of every May, this day is dedicated to all mothers, to thank them for their selfless sacrifices towards their families’ well-being, care and happiness.
“The Mother’s Day lunch was such a wonderful treat from Tony Roma’s,” said Puan Mazlina who has been a loyal Tony Roma’s customer for over five years. “We always look out for the promotions at Tony Roma’s and my eight year old son encouraged the family to take part in the Mother’s Day contest. What a surprise it was when the call came from Tony Roma’s to say that we had won!
“Special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and so on are always celebrated at Tony Roma’s because we simply love the ribs there and the staff always make us feel very special. My sister and her children plus my husband and three sons very much looked forward to indulging in their favourite ribs at the lunch which was specially prepared for us by Tony Roma’s,” added Puan Mazlina.
