Embark on new Adventures with Thomas & Friends

April 30, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Mattel Southeast Asia (Mattel) today launched a new Thomas & Friends™ toy line in Malaysia, themed around Thomas’ new Adventures beyond the Island of Sodor.

Typically, you’ll spot Thomas & Friends™ in locations such as Tidmouth Sheds, Knapford Station, Brendam Docks and Sodor Steamworks, to name a few. This year, for the first time ever, everyone’s favourite blue engine will journey to lands beyond the Island of Sodor, into the sea and out in space. His exciting Adventures will be represented in a new line of toys which is now available for sale at major toy retailers, departmental stores and hypermarkets.

“In this digital age, parents are faced with the challenge of finding alternative ways to stimulate the healthy development of children in the crucial early years. The new toy line brings back the fun of physical play, presenting Thomas & Friends™ in new environments that encourage children to broaden the scope of their imagination through the endless hours of fun that physical play provides,” said Joanne Teng, Senior Brand Manager, Mattel Southeast Asia.

In conjunction with the launch, Mattel has teamed up with Sunway Pyramid to bring Thomas & Friends’ Adventures to life. From now till 14th May 2017, the Thomas & Friends™ Adventures event will be held at the Blue Concourse of Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall. Children in Malaysia will be the first in Southeast Asia to experience the Adventures on land, sea and space with their favourite blue engine.

Children will be able to participate in a special obstacle course where they can find their way through a maze on land, slide into the sea of Adventure, challenge themselves to ‘Reach for the Stars’ in space and go on a ride on a Thomas train. The Thomas & Friends™ Adventures event promises to be exciting and engaging, with attractive prizes to be won, including the all-new Thomas & Friends™ Adventures engines and track sets.

“Thomas & Friends™ has been a family favourite for decades. We are excited to have this brand with us to share with our customers. This way, their experiences are enhanced while taking time off their busy schedules to shop and dine at Sunway Pyramid”, said Kevin Tan, Chief Operating Officer of Sunway Malls.

Thomas & Friends™ fans will also be able to enjoy RM5 off a ride to/from Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall by using the “THOMAS” promo code. Consumers can visit http://grb.to/thomas to check out the terms and conditions.
