Cammino Pasta Challenge 2017 – The Excelsior, Hong Kong

March 9, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

Known for its homemade pasta, pizza and rustic Italian cuisine, Cammino at The Excelsior, Hong Kong invites Facebook fans to come up with the most creative pasta dish. The dish will be featured in the new a la carte menu and available for adventurous guests to try.

“Pasta is a go-to comfort dish when you want something enriching and satisfying.  Different pasta can be matched with a wide range of ingredients. Participants can inject new concepts into traditional favourites or open up a whole new horizon.” said Executive Chef Joseph Chan.

From 13 to 19 March, Facebook users can go to The Excelsior’s official Facebook “ExcelsiorHK” to submit their creative pasta dish. Chef Joseph will select four entries and demonstrate how to transform them for a restaurant menu. The four entries will then be open for voting. Facebook fans can vote for their favourite dish. Upon the invitation of Chef Joseph, the winning dish will be listed on Cammino’s a la carte menu. The winner will also receive a one-night stay in a Mandarin Premier View Room including breakfast for two persons at Mandarin Oriental, Macau (Valued at HKD 8,525) , as well as one-year unlimited serving of the winning dish at Cammino.

The other three selected entries will also win a complimentary dining experience in Cammino, including:

Second Prize:
Italian Sunday Brunch with unlimited sparkling wine for four persons (valued at HK$1,707)
Third Prize:
Set dinner for two (valued at HK$1,074)
Forth Prize:
Weekday Semi-lunch buffet for two (valued at HK$656)

The contest winners will be announced on the hotel’s official Facebook page on 5 April.

Be it Chinese Fermented Tofu and Kimchi Fusilli or Scallop Linguine with Lemon Sauce, Facebook fans can design any pasta dish and our chefs will bring it to life. “Salty and sweet, crispy and soft, striking a balance amongst all ingredients is key to creating a great dish with complex texture and flavours.” Chef Joseph added.
