Pavilion KL Brings Magic to Charity Homes, this Christmas

December 19, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

It is always a nice thing when we know that many malls have been during charity during festive season, and being one of the top mall in Malaysia, charity is always at the heart of Pavilion KL, where excitement and creativity are injected into campaigns to raise funds for its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, also known as ‘Charity At Heart’. The initiative this Christmas was launched on 17 November 2016 and is on-going until 1 January 2017, where Pavilion KL teams up with crystal makers, Swarovski to donate part of the proceeds from the World’s First Swarovski Crystallised Merry-Go-Round to charity. In a joyful ceremony today with the children from charity homes, Pavilion KL and Swarovski unveiled RM30,000 raised for Angels Children’s Home, Desa Amal Jireh and Rumah Victory.

The event kick-started with a joyful ride for the children from the orphanage homes, on the World’s first Swarovski Crystallised Merry-Go-Round. The beneficiaries and children were then invited onstage for a group photo with Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion KL, where a mock cheque of RM10,000 was given to each charity home.

Speaking at the event, Ms Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing, Pavilion KL said, “I would like to express my sincere thanks to those who contributed generously to our Charity At Heart initiative this Christmas. With the support of our shoppers, Pavilion KL, in collaboration with Swarovski, has raised money that will aid in the welfare of the children from the orphanage homes. We hope that all shoppers will continue to do their part for charity this festive season – take a ride on the World’s First Swarovski Crystallised Merry Go Round for only RM10, and have part of the proceeds donated to charity. On behalf of the management, we’d like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.”

To add to the festive merriment, Santa Claus made a grand appearance as a surprise to the children and led everyone to the mall’s Main Entrance for an enchanting ride on the Fantasy Train. It was a sight to behold as the children took their rounds around the Spritzer Sparkling Christmas Tree, grinning ear to ear for the cameras. The children were then treated to a merry meal with Santa Claus himself at Fish & Co.

To date, Pavilion KL has raised a grand sum of over RM 2 million in charity donations and pledges from festival fund raising, disaster relief funds and corporate donations. To play your part in the Christmas Ever After CSR Initiative, take a ride on the Swarovski Crystallised Merry-Go-Round from now until 1 January 2017. Each ride is priced at RM10 with part proceeds going to charity.
