Journey through unique Hong Kong with Malaysia’s Denise Camillia

December 7, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Up-and-comer Denise Camillia Tan puts Malaysia on the map once again by hosting part of The Travelers, an all-new star-studded travelogue showcasing Hong Kong’s trendy and unique experiences accessible via public transportation! Throughout the series, Denise will introduce viewers to some of the most notable dining, shopping, cultural and outdoor activities in Asia’s World City – Hong Kong.

“Travelling around the world has made me realise that exploring offbeat locations are the best way to get to know a city better and immerse in the local culture. The Travelers allows me to share this experience with viewers as we explore places using public transport, meeting with locals who are able to share with us the insiders’ view to a location, as well as its culture and traditions. This, I feel, is the essence of travelling,” said Denise.

Denise, who just turned 24, has been hard at work since winning the Miss Astro Chinese International Pageant in 2012. In the last year, she has filmed two international TV dramas – playing the role of a killer in Hong Kong’s spy thriller series, The Hiddens, and an undisclosed role in Singapore’s Legal Eagles. Apart from acting in television series, Denise has also proved her versatility through her varied hosting projects that include travelogues, cooking programmes as well as the dance reality show Astro Battleground 2016.

“I’ve been very fortunate to be part of shows that have taken me to many places such as Japan, Taiwan and most recently, Hong Kong, for filming of The Travelers and The Hiddens. Being exposed to many different roles has allowed me to fully immerse myself in the creative industry. Hopefully, I will get to try out more diverse and challenging roles, or be involved in more action-oriented films,” concluded Denise.

In The Travelers, Denise explores locations such as Wan Chai, Yuen Long, Sai Kung, Sham Sui Po and Cheung Chau, and uncovers the very best of each location – from distinctive traditions to extraordinary attractions, and even hipster joints. Viewers are in for a treat as the show also features Duncan Lai and Wylie Chiu, Denise’s co-stars from The Hiddens, as they discover endless adventures and possibilities, even for the most seasoned traveller to Hong Kong.

Join Denise and her co-stars in The Travelers on Astro Kah Lai Toi (Channel 304) every Saturday evening at 9.30pm. Viewers can also catch the repeats on Astro Ria (Channel 104) from November 2016 onwards.
