The IKEA Soft Toys Drawing Competition Is Back

November 10, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

The IKEA Soft Toys Drawing Competition has returned in the lead up to the Christmas and year-end gifting season. IKEA Malaysia is inviting children of IKEA FAMILY members and småles members of 12 years old and below to participate and submit their favourite drawings to the IKEA Soft Toys Drawing Competition, totally free-of-charge. Non-members can also participate by simply signing as member, which is also totally free.

The drawing competition is running until 17 November 2016 at IKEA Damansara and IKEA Cheras. Drawing papers and colouring materials are available at the Bug House, Ground Floor at the IKEA stores where participants can draw and submit the drawings on the spot.

The Soft Toys Drawing Competition is an activity run by IKEA to support its global good cause initiatives through the IKEA Foundation. These partnerships with likeminded organisations are established to improve opportunities for underprivileged children around the world. In this way, IKEA can have an even bigger impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families around the world.

Twenty drawing submissions will be chosen to represent Malaysia at the global IKEA Soft Toys Drawing Competition, joining other top twenty winner from countries around the world. Out of the hundreds of finalists, the top ten drawings will be made into limited edition soft toys that will be sold at IKEA stores worldwide. Winning drawings will be picked through a mix of public voting and evaluation by a panel of judges comprising representatives from the IKEA stores. The competition is a chance for Malaysian children to see their imagination come to life as entries will be evaluated based on the level of creativity, uniqueness and commercial potential to be developed into actual soft toys.

During the inaugural the Soft Toys Drawing Competition in 2014, Malaysia’s very own Terrence Wan was selected as one of the top 10 winners and his creation was sold at IKEA stores worldwide. This year, the creation of Chutirada from Thailand will be produced and made available in all IKEA stores soon.

Customers simply need to register at the FAMILY kiosk in any of the IKEA stores or online at IKEA.my/FAMILY/register to enjoy more benefits and exclusive promotions. Parents can sign up their little ones as småles member, at the Bug House, Ground Floor at the IKEA stores.
