Saturday High Tea Buffet and Seafood Buffet Dinner at the Lobby Lounge, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Saturday is the day for relaxed dining with family and friends and the Lobby Lounge, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur is where you can enjoy the High Tea Buffet or Seafood Buffet Dinner.

The Saturday High Tea Buffet is served from 12 noon to 3pm, at RM120 nett per person. It’s a lavish buffet spread beginning with the Fresh Seafood Station with oysters, scallops and prawns, and the Caviar and Fish Roe Station with blinis, Melba toast and condiments.

At the Gourmet Asian and Western Salad Station are Flower Crab Salad, Otak-otak Terrine, Hawaiian Ahi Tuna Tartare and a variety of other salads. The Japanese Station offers different kinds of sushi.

Smoked duck and beef, Foie gras terrine and BBQ chicken and duck are at the Charcuterie Station while there is Australian Grain-fed Prime Beef at the Carving Station.

Hot dishes like Nyonya Steamed Fish, Braised Fish Maw with Sea Cucumber, Satay Celup and Sichuan Yabbies are also a highlight of the High Tea Buffet.

There are desserts galore, from English Trifle to crepes and pancakes, strawberry panna cotta, churros and blueberry cheesecake among others.

From 6.30pm to 10.30pm it’s the Saturday Seafood Buffet Dinner at the Lobby Lounge, at RM188 nett per person.

There’s entertainment from a live band during the dinner.

The Fresh Seafood Station offers US oysters, diver scallops, yabbies and prawns. The Hot Dishes section serves Lobster Thermidor, Braised Australian Abalones with sea cucumber, Steamed Cod Mignon, Crab Gratin and Mamak Fish Head Curry among other seafood dishes.

At the Carving Station are Rock Salt Baked Giant Sea Grouper and Australian Grain-fed Prime Beef served with truffle gratin potato, Yorkshire pudding and glazed baby vegetables.

There is also a Charcuterie Station and Japanese Station at this Seafood Buffet Dinner.

There is a wide array of desserts, from Waffles, Tiramisu in Bowl, Baked New York Cheese Cake to Irish Coffee Chocolate Fudge Cake and Pear Bourdaloue Jocteur Tart.
