HOMEDEC Showhome 2016 – 3-Gen Living & Design

Concurrently, the HOMEDEC key signature feature highlight; the HOMEDEC Showhome: 3-Gen Living & Design, will continue to open its door for visitors during the final 4 days of the HOMEDEC Part 2. The Showhome will be the key-highlight that will be illuminating the dark ambience of the night scene, presented throughout HOMEDEC Part 2.

The HOMEDEC Showhome feature, now in its 6th series (initiated since 2012 following different themes), was officially launched in the HOMEDEC Part 1 which has unveiled the special feature of a multi-generational showhome based on the theme 3-Gen Living & Design to the public as a source of inspiration to create. This dedicated show unit was designed by Essential Design Integrated Sdn Bhd (EDI), a multi award-winning local interior design consultant firm.

EDI is the winner of the  MIID REKA HOMEDEC Residential Award (2015) organised by Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) and the PAM HOMEDEC Residential Renovation  Award (2013 and 2015), jointly organised by Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia/Malaysian Institute of Architects (PAM) and HOMEDEC.

The 3-Gen Living & Design show unit comprises a clever mix of HOMEDEC Part 1’s renovation-related products and HOMEDEC Part 2’s category of exhibited products dedicated to furnishing and sprucing up the home interior.

The Showhome is majestically built within 46 hours at Hall 5 and will continue to open its door in HOMEDEC Part 2 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This year’s showhome combines and even exceeds the elements of fun-and-play and other lifestyle elements by exploring the possibilities of creative design strategies in a multi-generational home. This invokes a sense of curiosity and experimental design features in the showhome. Technological advances that benefit the home is another aspect that can be seen incorporated from the consumer home technology front.

Built as a double-storey unit measuring 4,133 sqft on the premise that spaces needn’t be separated and can be inter-connected visually and designed seamlessly, visitors are able to walk around the dining and living areas, grandparents’ room and laundry area on the ground floor, and climb up to the first floor of the parents and children’s room.

With the exceptional detailing and planning done on the construction and preparation of the showhome, HOMEDEC has once again proven to be at the forefront of trendsetting ideas that will benefit industry stakeholders including exhibitors, professional interior designers and also homeowners themselves. On top that, the showcase is also in line with the exhibition’s aim to be an information and knowledge hub for all renovation, refurbishment and redecoration needs.
